presentation of the GSX 1250 FA 2010

The GSX-F philosophy has changed. Initially developed as sport-GTs, in direct competition with the indestructible VFR, these machines have now been transformed into GSF Bandit-based tourers. The 650 started the ball rolling several years ago, offering long-haul touring for medium-displacement and medium-paying riders.

but the Suzuki range has long lacked a big GT. The 1300 GSX-R Hayabusa was far too sporty for the job. So the manufacturer has come up with a Bandit-style cocktail. First of all, a big engine; just what we needed: the recent 1255 cm3 is clean, modern, torquey, (perhaps a little too wise), and perfectly suited to powering a big rig. Next, let's take the 1250 GSF's technical base, adapt the GSX-F 650's fairing to it, and add a few touring elements. And there you have it: the GSX-F 1250 - Hammamatsu's large-displacement tourer(which we already suspected on MP when we presented the 650).

a closer look reveals that this streamlined 1250 goes a little further than that. While it retains the 650's headlamp unit and dashboard (themselves taken from the GSX-R 1000 K5-K6), its fairing panels are more imposing, plusher and more elaborate, with slight styling effects inspired by the brand's sports bikes. A number of add-ons make riding and everyday life more enjoyable. Center stand, adjustable seat height (805 or 825 mm), ABS; and a list of options including everything you need for travel: top-case, side cases, double windscreen.

this GT is aimed above all at those who want to enjoy the open road and big torque without looking for the top end of motorcycle touring. Its chassis and equipment can't compete with the high standards and rigor of a BMW R 1200 RT, Yamaha FJR 1300 or Kawasaki GTR 1400, but they can't compete on the attractive price front. The GSX-F 1250 is offered at an unbeatable price for a displacement of this calibre.

French Gérard Model 2014
Hello. I've owned this model for 11 years, and after trying out several recent motorcycles, I can't find an equivalent except with the German competition, but at too high a price... For comfort, I've fitted a saddle and an adjustable EMC shock absorber... It's very satisfactory. Average fuel consumption: 5.7l, duo or solo loaded, and riding with this 11mkg engine torque is top-notch. It's a shame that manufacturers no longer offer this type of machine, which is so well suited to the road. So I think I'll keep it for a long time to come. 69-year-old biker with 52 years' motorcycle licence...3/4 of them on a Suzuki... Rating : 4/5

Ultime
Purchased in Gt in 2016, 50,000 kilometers later, here it is at 125,000 odometer. Not a single breakdown. No trouble. Starts every day and takes me to work, takes us on vacation loaded like mules. 260kg, 30kg of luggage, 120kg of people, you're 410 in working order, and the engine carries you in every sense of the word. Wise? I've lost count of the number of sports bikes that have been registered.
A Tour de France, a tour of Corsica, the Massif Central, the Alps, the only limit is the original saddle.

125,000 kilometers, no clutch, no distribution, I keep an eye on it... tires, yes 4 to 6000km one rear 8 to 11000 one front. Oil change every 5,000 at the 10 40 at Leclerc, my filters and fluids. 6l per 100 combined. My discs have to be changed at 110,000.normal.that's an economical gt. I only regret not having a cardan shaft. You can't have everything... A sporty gt look, an all-round torquey engine, reassuring dry and wet handling. And I paid 4,000 for it used. In 3 years, it's more than paid for itself. My first, but not my last.
Rating : 4/5
I've owned this 1250 gsx fa gt for a few months now... I'm more than satisfied with it, both solo and with the lady, long rides are very pleasant, no worries about the passenger rider position, a comfort seat might be worth considering, I think... otherwise I'm really enjoying this very torquey bike... bubble with deflector sufficient for my 1m80, legs not too bent for the passenger (1m70), she's enjoying it just as much as I am... except for the seat and maybe a slightly larger fuel tank! There's nothing irreproachable about this beaker... Previous owner of an XJR 1300 which I liked very much, I don't regret my purchase... Rating : 4/5

To move the top case back, you need an adapter plate that fits over the original metal plate. I've just made the modification following the purchase of this model in March. Rating : 4/5

This bike is a pleasure to ride. Torque lovers are in for a treat! I rode it on the route des grandes Alpes, and what a pleasure it was not to have to downshift all the time. There's no point in going flat out with it, you just have to let it carry you. Even with two people, once you've moved the topcase back, it's perfect.
I won't even mention the price...
Go for it with your eyes closed!

i've just ordered this GSX1250FA, which comes with a comfort seat, heated grips, protective pad, 33-litre suitcase, 48-litre top-case, tank bag and carbon scorpion escapement, all for 12,000 euros. I hope I'll be able to enjoy myself for this price. I'll let you know when I've had a chance to try it out. Rating : 3/5

What can I say except that the 1250 fa offers unbeatable value for money. Why pay twice as much. I'm on my 13th bike and I'm amazed every day by this engine, its phenomenal torque, its flexibility, its relative comfort, its sufficient chassis and its low fuel consumption. At last, a bike for real bikers! Rating : 5/5

Hello
I currently have 45000kms and nothing to say powerful bike easy to handle
Low maintenance costs for 4 1/2 years it costs me 50â'¬ / month including purchase price!
So what's not to like about it, maybe its looks. And the lack of cardan shaft
Otherwise buy if you want a GT with no problem!

Of course there's always better, whatever your choice of bike! But at what price?! So this GSX FA (mine's a GT), I find more than recommendable. It pushes very hard and you quickly exceed the legal limits, even in duo and loaded! It's torquey, you just need to change the seat (a Moillo!) and you'll rack up the kilometers in no time! Leaving a GSR 750, my wife says thank you, and I'm enjoying myself! Rating : 5/5
French Michel80 Model 2014
Are you kidding?
If the 1250's engine is "too wise", then the majority of road bike engines are downright wheezy!
You've got to stop comparing everything with sports bikes, we're not in the same category.

French rene Model 2013
It's rather the previous comment that's uninteresting, yes, completely uninteresting. Derived from the big bandit roadster, the Gsxfa offers a new tourer for the used price of its much more expensive contemporaries. Fabulous engine, always smooth and powerful, chassis and comfort correct for a grand tourer. What do the people want but to buy it? Rating : 5/5
French Michel80
I totally agree with René.
Right now, in this range, the FA is the best value for money.

.little problem with my XJR 1300 Black2. I rented this magnificent bike in Clermont-Ferrand (AUBIERES)(63). Remarkable little bike; precise handling. Extremely smooth, it accelerates nicely 9/10; braking 8/10, I'm not a fan of ABS. Top speed reached quickly; it's going to be like breathing easier. I let myself be seduced by this remarkable tourer. My choice is made, and when the "loc" returns, I'll order! Rating : 5/5
French DOUDOU Model 2011
4000 on the odometer, and what a pleasure!
comfort, smoothness, with a leo carbon pot (weight and torque), it's a real winner. And what's more, it's not expensive. If it's just for cruising, like me, the 7,000 euros for a cardan shaft isn't justified. A real tourer.

French Bruno Model 2012
As a motorcyclist for over 30 years, I've ridden with a variety of makes and always with large-displacement bikes. Today, I ride this new model in all weathers, since it's my work vehicle. I'm particularly happy with it. I sometimes read comments about the engine being a bit too quiet! What does that mean? Even with a loaded duo, it's a motorcycle that responds very well, and you can scare yourself if you turn the handle! With the "double windscreen", protection is good. You stay upright even at very high speeds. No fatigue over long distances, and a very comfortable seat for the passenger too. Even at high revs, fuel consumption doesn't exceed 6L/100. It's a real tourer, so I'm very satisfied with this vehicle, and if I had to do it all over again, I'd buy it again. Rating : 5/5

Well, I think it's great too. In fact, I bought one in the blue GT version. I'm sure the lady won't complain so much about her stuff in the backpack and panniers. Then, until 15 days ago, I had a 2006 Bandit 1200 with which I covered 45,000 km in 30 months. As for the weight, it's a matter of habit and it rides like a bike

well, I'm thrilled and can't wait to buy it! I'm expecting it this summer, and there's no question about it, I'm buying it! I had the latest version of the 750 GSX-F and did 20,000 km with it in 2 years, daily use plus w-e rides, all on national srt, and I had a blast with it! It's true that the GSX-F "spirit" appeals to me! With the fairing as it is, it's a few kilos heavier than the "Bandit" version, but there you go, it's got more personality that way! In any case, I'm hoping for a few improvements over the 750: better shifting of the 1st gear (which was often sticking), more robust injectors (hyper-rapid clogging that required 2 major cleanings in 2 years). Oh yeah, one last thing: when I resold it, I had a hard time, as the dealer sold it off, because it was an old model... grrrr! Rating : 5/5
