At the heart of the RM-Z450's performance is a 449 cm3, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine with electronic fuel injection. Specially designed to deliver full character, the RM-Z450's single-cylinder engine delivers phenomenal torque, ensuring immediate availability of power at low and medium engine speeds.

electronic fuel injection
The RM-Z450's innovative fuel injection system is based on a battery-less design that makes it even lighter. Directly inspired by proven technologies borrowed from the Suzuki GSX-R and QuadRacer R450, this KEIHIN-built system guarantees progressive throttle arrival. A KEIHIN fuel pump housed in a "factory" aluminum tank ensures constant fuel pressure.

The double-cartridge inverted fork and separate-cylinder rear shock are both made by SHOWA, and have been redesigned to offer lighter weight and smoother shock absorption. The lightweight rear swingarm enhances suspension performance.

electrical design
The RM-Z450's battery-free power supply uses a single-phase system, with the magneto providing all the necessary power. The data required for optimum engine power is provided by the 18-point magneto, which takes into account the gear engaged, engine speed and torque delivered to provide optimum fuel injection and ignition timing.

The RM-Z450's design combines aggressive styling with optimized airflow. factory look
