presentation of the RM-Z 450 2013
the 2013 Suzuki RM-Z 450 benefits even more from the manufacturer's racing experience. On the engine side, the designers have redesigned the piston, piston pin and connecting rod. Just as rigid as its predecessor, the piston is 13% lighter. To reduce friction losses, the piston pin is DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coated, as on the suspensions of the 1300 Hayabusa sports bike. The RM-Z 450's mono responds with greater vivacity and gives more gniak at mid-range.
to comply with new noise standards, the exhaust manifold is 50 mm longer. The gearbox has been slightly revised, with different ratios for gears 2, 3, 4 and 5. The engine control unit has been upgraded with a more powerful processor, and the electronics are now totally isolated: the ECM is completely sealed, protected from water and mud splashes. A new self-diagnosis function enables users to better manage machine maintenance.
in addition to a revised frame for improved stability/stiffness ratiothe big RM-Z gains a 48 mm Showa SFF fork with separate elements - damping takes place in the left tube, while the right accommodates the spring. Suzuki has also simplified the adjustment of injection parameters for those who purchase the optional box.

today's motocross bikes have unfortunately become too powerful, which makes them too expensive
in the 80's, we had more classic models with beautiful shapes, at a much more
for all categories of clientele
it's a shame that today's motocross bikes have lost
the quality that once gave this sport its true character
