presentation of the RM-Z 450 2014
rM-Zs are stars in the USA. Voted best cross-country bikes by the American and European press in 2013, the yellow she-devils are being reviewed for 2014. The Hamamatsu factory has finely tuned its big cross machine to retain leadership of the MX1 category.
new features:
1. Modified ECM ignition program for improved starting.
2. New, more aggressive two-tone graphics for the radiator fins and yellow number plate for a sharper look.
3. New suspension settings.
key features of the 2014 Suzuki 450 RM-Z:
1. 449 cm3, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, double ACT, fuel-injected engine. This engine has been tuned to deliver phenomenal thrust right from the lowest revs!
2. Thanks to the experience of factory machines entered in Grand Prix, the piston, its pin and the connecting rod are developed using the Finite Element Method (FEM).
3. The piston pin features a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) surface treatment to reduce friction and increase hardness.
4. Lightweight and battery-free, the electronic fuel injection system with progressive throttle linkage delivers power progressively and efficiently.
5. The 12-hole injector body delivers air/fuel vaporization for optimum performance.
6. The electrochemically-treated aluminum cylinder (SCEM) is designed for durability, light weight and optimized heat transfer.
7. The 5-speed transmission enables precise gear changes.
8. The latest Showa SFF type 2 fork (Separate Function front Fork) separates the spring and hydraulic functions on each arm. The right-hand fork contains both springs, while the left-hand fork integrates the entire cartridge to manage damping. The result is reduced friction, enhanced absorption performance and weight savings.
9. Preload is now adjustable on the fork, allowing further fine-tuning of the front suspension.
10. The narrow chassis design offers a closer riding position, for improved ergonomics and therefore better control of the machine.
11. The Showa gas-charged shock absorber is fully adjustable for slow and fast compression, and is also adjustable for rebound and preload.
12. The rear shock absorber, with its linkage kinematics, offers 310 mm of wheel travel for maximum traction.
13. Race-inspired brake discs and Excel aluminum wheels are standard equipment on the RM-Z.
14. Large-diameter Renthal Fatbar handlebars are fitted as standard. More rigid, they transmit less vibration than straight aluminum handlebars.
15. The two-tone seat cover, with its cross-shaped reliefs on the upper surface, provides extra grip.
16. Two plugs are included for adjusting the injection according to terrain and weather conditions. One enriches the air/fuel mixture, while the other depletes it. These are in addition to the standard cartography fitted to the motorcycle. The rider can modify the injection setting to suit riding conditions, simply by connecting a plug.
17. A maintenance cap for the fuel pump and a fuel hose plug are supplied to facilitate servicing when the customer removes the fuel tank. These protections prevent debris from entering the circuit.
18. The muffler body uses conventional bolts instead of rivets to simplify replacement of the muffler's glass wool.
19. The FI Indicator (optional accessory: 36380-28H00) acts as an hour meter, to indicate running time.

Thank you. Rating : 5/5 Respond to stef
today's motocross bikes have unfortunately become too powerful, which makes them too expensive
in the 80's, we had more classic models with beautiful shapes, at a much more
for all categories of clientele
it's a shame that today's motocross bikes have lost
the quality that once gave this sport its true character
