A beautiful Candy red, flirting with the colors of blood and wine... A new coat won't change Katana's destiny. Nor is it anything new or earth-shattering. But Suzuki Japan wants to bring some esteem to this third color for its neo-retro roadster.

This red 1000 Katana is presented in a limited edition of 100, for the Japanese market only. This edition follows a questionnaire Suzuki put out in the spring of 2020 to poll the public about the colors that would best suit this bike.

It was this one that proved the most popular. To further underline its uniqueness, the Katana 'Candy Darling Red' is also painted on the rims, and features a gold finish on the handlebars, fork tubes and caps, chain tensioning plates and link surfaces. The saddle features red stitching and a Katana logo inlaid into its flesh.

For Japanese customers, this special series can be purchased via online reservation. This will begin on January 11 at 3 pm. Once the login has been confirmed, the future owner will have to visit his local dealership to continue the process.

A little promotion for this Suzuki, displayed for a few tens of thousands of yen more. The 100 units will only see the roads of the archipelago. But perhaps the factory will indulge in more extensive production in the future, like the GSX-R 1000 R 100th Anniversary Edition.
