Motorcycle specifications TriumphTiger 900 Desert Edition 2026 Beautiful noise in the desert
presentation of the Tiger 900 Desert Edition 2026
Two wheels, an engine, handlebars... and clods of earth stuck in the spokes or a few grains of sand in the hoof. That's what the Triumph Tiger 900 Desert Edition is all about.
Tiger bikes have always wanted to show that the sun setting on their fairings is much brighter beyond the frontier. Now is the time for the British trail bikes to assert their desires a little more, and they do so through four special series with escapist names.
The manufacturer's most alert candidate is presented under the Rally Pro label. It is the basis for the Desert version. From there, three workshops set to work:
Rocks and stones
- Graphics and Decoration, whose work resulted in the unique Urban Grey / Sapphire Black color scheme, with Baja Orange touches - a fine achievement, as Triumph is wont to do
- The sound system. The 3-cylinder will give a deeper, more expressive voice with the Akrapovic muffler as standard. Titanium body and carbon end cap are the main principles. Weight savings amount to 35%, or 1.9 kg less, with a little extra power at mid-range (0.8 hp and 1.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm).
Triumph usually prefers to fit Arrow to its bikes. But this is the first time an Akra pot has been fitted to one of its adventure bikes. The Alpine edition is also entitled to this bonus. - The damage department. When you're off-roading, you end up on the ground sooner or later. So does the bike. The Desert Edition comes with top crash bars to protect the bottom of the tank and the radiators. As the Rally Pro already had a frame around the engine and a sabot, the level of breakage here is taken down a notch.
400 more than the Rally Pro for this Desert pack is very reasonable. The final bill is much less so. Almost 18 K for a trail 900, that's a budget that needs some thought.

After all, it's not a bargain to go shopping with either. We're talking top-of-the-range, with beautiful peripherals, first-rate versatility, heated saddles and grips, assertive off-road capabilities, and a very pleasant engine. 108 hp and 90 NM are at the rider's disposal, along with a hefty dose of electronics. ABS cornering, traction control, 7" connected display, 6 riding modes, cruise control, shifter and more.
And yet, when you're out on the trails and rhinoceroses, you'll have more sympathy for the 21" / 17 " spoked wheels and 240 / 230 mm travel of Showa suspension.
If you're looking for bigger, more powerful.... and heavier, the 1200 Tiger is also available in Desert Edition.
