presentation of the 2300 ROCKET III Touring 2008
triumph's vigorous 2.3L 3-cylinder has found a new territory to conquer: Grand Touring. And the American way, please! The Rocket III was just asking to be equipped to hunt in the lands of the Harley-Davidson Electra and Road King. So Hinckley offered it, or rather, transformed and adapted it for Uncle Sam's Highways. The Rocket III Touring isn't just a Rocket with a windscreen and 2 suitcases. The big British custom is largely redesigned to ensure its supremacy in the cruising market.
from the standard Rocket III, Triumph has kept only the engine, albeit with revised mapping for better throttle control. With its majestic 3-cylinder engine and incomparable breathing, this new GT will fear no competition when it comes to muscle and feel. All around, everything has been modified to offer Touring passengers a new way of enjoying the road and comfort.
Chassis, wheels, suspension, seat, fuel tank, instrumentation, headlight... Everything, I tell you, has been adapted. Some details make it easy to switch from "cruising" to "custom" mode; suitcases like the windshield are held in place by quick-release fasteners.
this imposing GT will find itself up against the Goldwing benchmark and the inevitable Harleys. The 3-cylinder receives a new mapping: less power (down to 106 hp) but 1 mkg more at 2,025 rpm. The big British mill now pumps out over 21 mkg just above idle - a real tractor. A real uppercut for the competition. Once the V2 t flat 6s have calmed down, the Touring will have to prove that it can hold its own in terms of dynamics and comfort.
It's already charmed you... All you have to do is turn up at Triumph with a cheque for 19,290 euros.

I think the Rocket 3 surpasses anything you can imagine
And forgives no mistakes
But it's pure pleasure
Nice Rating : 4/5 Respond to MAckinnon
Thank you very much Rating : 5/5 Respond to sr
I've just tried a Harley Road King, a superb bike by the way, but I had the impression that it was seriously out of juice
I can confirm that the TRIII Touring is a great bike, but you have to be careful at low speeds, as it's a bit engaging at the front
Excellent braking, but here again, be careful on wet roads! Don't forget the beast's 350kg, and over 400kg with passenger + luggage
At this price, they should have fitted ABS
Pleasantly surprised by its maneuverability in town despite its size and weight...with a bit of practice of course!
Cornering is a little frustrating...you have to get used to a very smooth ride
My only regret is a very incomplete instrument panel for a machine of this price: no lap counter, no thermometer, no gear indicator..., unreliable fuel gauge...
