Motorcycle specifications Triumph 865 BONNEVILLE T 100 50th Anniversary 2009 Sword versus sword
presentation of the 865 BONNEVILLE T 100 50th Anniversary 2009
for modern racers, Triumph is synonymous with 3-cylinders and a great little sports bike, the 675 Daytona. For Triumph enthusiasts and racers of yesteryear, the brand is universally known for its Bonneville. A legend that began in 1956 in Utah (U.S.), in the Bonneville Salt Desert. It was there that a certain John Allen set a speed record with a 650 cm3 (souped-up) engine. A few years later, Triumph expressed its gratitude to this driver in 1959 with the Bonneville, powered by a 650 cm3 in-line twin coupled to a 4-speed gearbox.
since then, the machine has gained in displacement, reliability, horsepower, a higher gear ratio and more efficient brakes, but retains its authentic British allure. Half a century later, Triumph presents a limited edition of the Bonneville, paying tribute to this flagship model. Based on the T 100, only 650 examples of the Bonneville 50th Anniversary will be produced. The exotic blue/orange "Tangerine Dream" design is reminiscent of the first Bonneville. Of course, just like this shimmering dress, it is entitled to some special attention: a special seat, chrome-plated cylinder head covers, a "50 th Bonneville" logo affixed to the underside of the seat, behind the fake carburetors, a certificate of authenticity signed by John Bloor (Triumph's boss) and its serial number affixed to the handlebar clamps.
with this tribute model, the British brand is making the most of its revival image, in parallel with its Steve Mac Queen merchandising. And on the VIP side, the Bonnie can count on the sympathy and popularity of enthusiasts such as George Clooney, Nicolas Cage and Ewan McGregor.
