presentation of the 865 BONNEVILLE T 100 2014

like its sibling Bonnie, the T 100 inherits the little bonuses of 2014: exhausts providing a more delicate sound, revised engine cooling fins, a rollbar (in this case chromed) for the passenger and a chain guard.

genesis: The T 100... this name symbolizes all Triumph's glory. It marked the 60s in the leather and fury of the golden age of café racers. Now it's been reborn, to the delight of sixties fans, and all those who are tired of losing license points. Basically, it's a Bonneville that the Hinckley factory has reworked. Two-tone fuel tank, chrome engine covers, rev counter. And since the standard Bonneville changed quite a bit in 2009 (stick wheels, shorter wheelbase, new exhausts), the T 100 takes on even more of the vintage charm of its ancestor. Since 2007, it shares the same 865cc twin as the other Bonnevilles, and is no longer distinguished by its different displacement. The charm of the Bonnevilles lies in its superior equipment. 2008 saw the introduction of fuel injection, but cleverly hidden behind fake carburetors to maintain the nostalgic feel.

...Above all, it's easy to get used to. You're not subjected to the riding position, you don't climb onto the Bonneville, you settle into it. The British touch, the simplicity and smoothness of the ride, the quality components and the serenity of a modern powertrain appeal to the rider and justify the smile on the Triumph logo. If the bike hiccups a little at low speeds, it's not the fault of the engine - which doesn't vibrate and is beautifully smooth - but rather of the transmission. The few extra cm3 were not intended to turn the T 100 into a cannonball. Admittedly, it picks up better, especially in fifth gear, but above all it's the pleasure of riding that gains.

Triumph 865 BONNEVILLE T 100 2014The chassis is very classic in design, but holds its own (to say the least) and is remarkably consistent with the twin-cylinder engine. The single front brake disc does its job very well, which is not the case with the rear damping. If the sausage were that dry, it would be hard to cut. And yet, with a passenger, there's a slight improvement. Does the Bonneville have the mentality of a matchmaker?

it's as easy as it is pleasant to use, and you'll enjoy riding this beautiful English bike from morning to night. On the other hand, the lack of under-seat storage and center stand is a bit of a turn-off. OK, but how many motorcycles do you know that have so much charm and nostalgia that you can use them every day?

French trazibule Model 2016
I've just bought a used Bonneville T100, I don't know it, I can only say that I like it for its line, its style and its engine torque, having tried my neighbor's for 40 km.
I'm expecting it in a few days.

I bought a Bonnie only a few weeks ago
I found the milesime I was looking for and the color I wanted.
It's green
It's gorgeous.
The ride is really nice and the gearbox is a delight
The more I look at it, the more beautiful I find it.
Probably my last bike, given my age.

French David Model 2012
A superb machine for those who like to ride far and wide, with the look of an oldtimer. Just a few modifications to make the engine breathe and sound. Super easy to handle, supple and maneuverable. A keeper as it loses little of its value. Rating : 5/5

i've been the proud owner of a Bonneville for 3 months and have ridden 2,000 happy kilometers. Above all, it's a motorcycle that you buy for what it represents and the name it bears. Those who compare it to a "Japanese" bike and demand similar performance from it have completely missed the point of such a machine. That doesn't detract from the fact that it has real assets and is a real pleasure to drive for those who appreciate it for what it is. It certainly has its faults, but these are quickly erased by its legend. It's pure pleasure, thank you triumph... Rating : 5/5
Quels amortisseurs pour l'arrière ?
After 1 year of use, I'm delighted with my Bonneville, both for touring and for daily commuting. The only thing I can't stand is the deplorable rear damping. The slightest irregularity in the road is torture for the vertebrae. I've had the rear shock absorbers changed, the dealer recommended Hagons, and there's been no improvement. What should I put in the rear? Rating : 5/5

I reread my comment from last year about the rear shock absorbers. Since then, the dealer has offered me EMCs, and I'm delighted. Cornering on uneven roads and comfort have become quite acceptable
I've now driven it 10,000 km, and it's a delight on roads, mountain passes and in town. What's more, its looks always elicit sympathetic comments.

French ferko Model 2005
It's true that, used to better-finished, better-equipped bikes that brake very well and are well damped....the contrast is striking, and for a moment I wondered if I'd made a mistake by snapping up my T100.You can feel the finish is borderline, the metal hard, the threads just waiting to spin out of control...I've invested 1500 Euros in various improvements: ammortos worthy of the name, carburetion kit, central keel...
but I have to say that the Bonneville is a motorcycle in a class of its own, it catches your eye and doesn't let go, its lines are bewitching and there's something old-fashioned about the way it rides, which contrasts with the ascepticism of the perfect machines of our time. I have to say that I intend to keep it, unlike the string of motorcycles that have followed one another into my garage, none of which has managed to keep me!

French Clot Model 2005
No center stand, no lockable fuel filler cap, no passenger support hoops, no fuel injection, no room for a U or to store anything, no dual disc brakes, no fork stiffener (so only one disc). No secondary toothed belt drive, and no possibility of fitting tubeless tires. No progressive shock absorbers either. Plus a bland, over-balanced engine. For a lower price, I prefer the Kawa W 650, better equipped and with a more authentic riding feel. What's more, the W 650 has bevel-gear and shaft drive - luxury ....! Rating : 5/5
French GSXG DUMON Model 2005
16-litre fuel tank: ...... Another bike for the city guys.....or for those who like to get a line in the idiot carburettor every 150 km DAMN, it looks nice... ......pour la ballade! Rating : 5/5
