A scrambler, ancestor of the trail bike, is a roadster that wants to go places. Triumph's Street Scrambler is a reoriented Bonneville that's more at home in town. The Sandstorm, on the other hand, dreams of getting out of the city and into the desert, lured by the siren song of famous sand races - such as the Baja in the States, the Barstow - Vegas, the AMA Scrambles National Championship, the Big Bear Run....... A whole collection won in the 50s and 60s by the TR6 Trophy.

The Street Scrambler is dressed with this in mind. The tricolored tank is predominantly country gray. But what really stands out is the range of accessories designed to give it courage as well as desire. Stones, mud, a few flying clods of earth? No problemo. Triumph has fitted a handsome aluminum shoe, a trail-type front mudguard and a protective headlight grille. The rear mudguard has been changed, as have all the rear fittings - the light has been reduced to a bare minimum, while the indicators are mounted just under the seat. It's as if they wanted to remove the mud flap with a stroke of the pruning shears.

the SandStorm recovers the grip-knees that the standard Street Scrambler lost in its evo 2021-Euro5. This also means that the bike benefits from the engine block that has been reworked for the occasion. Less pollutant emissions, still 65 horsepower produced by the piston duo and just over 8 mkg at output.
Hinckley's medium-sized Scrambler also features spoked wheels, mixed tires, three riding modes (Rain - Road - Off-road), disconnectable traction control and ABS. As ever, a USB socket is concealed under the seat.

How many will we get? 775 units will be produced worldwide, slightly fewer than Triumph's other 2021 limited series. Each will come with a personalized certificate of authenticity. Just don't leave it lying around next to a beach or a poster of the Mojaves. He might get all excited.
