presentation of the 1200 Bonneville T 120 Gold Line 2022
Triumph' s best-known model receives a level of finish that is both classy and fraternal. The "Gold Line" was discreetly introduced to the range in 2021 with the Street Twin, in a limited series. One year later, the entire Bonneville family (8 models) received it.
Speedmaster, Scrambler, T100..... through to the 1200 T120. Time-honored enthusiasts can enjoy a few blond stripes on this machine, delineating the Silver Ice / Competition Green color duo. The tank and airbox covers are invaded by grey, then its hold is halted by fine hand-painted gold borders. These preserve the English green areas, where only the Gold Line signature is visible.
Is that all? That's all. It's enough. The Bonneville maintains a certain level of restraint and poise; to set the bronx alight, it lets the Bobber or Street Triple run riot.
With this new model, which will not be available until this year (a unique vintage color, in fact), the British motorcycle relaxes with the generous torque of its twin, its 10.7 mkg reached at just 3,500 rpm and its 80 hp perched almost twice as high.
But let 's not forget the essence of the Bonnie's charm, which the "Gold Line" series only slightly enhances: a silhouette from another era, spoked wheels, sausage pots, a remarkable finish, an engine that's as full as it should be and a laid-back attitude.
There's a bit of electronics, too, with two driving modes, traction control, ABS, a USB port, cruise control and LEDs everywhere it lights up - all tucked away in 236 kilos of modern history.
Triumph will ask you for an extra 800 euros to take advantage of the two-tone color scheme and gold brushstrokes.
