presentation of the 660 Street Triple S 2022

Do you want your Street Triple full-bodied or decaffeinated? In either case, the urge to take it boiling hot is pressing. No sweetener or bitterness for the 765 RS version; just sport in every whiff.

For this 660 S, it's something else. The body plays the same seductive score, but when you get going, you're in a less dry, more accessible world. This is where the British roadster pays its respects before warming your hands.

The Hinckley-based manufacturer knows how to handle the personality of its machines. Observe, compare, detail, and count the differences in appearance between the S and the RS on a short list. None of the owners will feel like they've got a Street on the cheap. Sharing the same patient look, identical lines, equally athletic skeleton and equally exciting virulence, the "gentle" member of the family is confounding in the extreme. Above all, it exudes improvement, modelled on the 765 upgrade.

Triumph 660 Street Triple S it takes a keen eye to grasp the subtleties, the effects that take it from standard to sporty. Here, there's no engine cowl or seat backrest; the metallic look of the rear buckle has faded; the carbon finish on the exhaust tip has been lost; the rear-view mirrors have taken on a classic position; the equipment package confirms the gap between the sisters.

The Street Triple S costs less, much less than the top of the range. It has to be said that its power output is lower: 95 hp, a discount of around 30%. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, it's designed to pass A2 driving tests. In order to be bridled, it has to be limited to 70 kW. Secondly, it doesn't have the same engine, even though it's a three-cylinder. The 660 cm3 block is now Euro5-compliant, and is already powerful enough to go fast.

As for the chassis, we've also revised our claims. No bleeding attacks in sight? No need to use Brembo M50 4-piston brake calipers. More measured Nissin 2-piston calipers will take care of the 310 mm discs. The suspension loses almost all its settings; only the Showa amorto retains the possibility of adjusting preload. The Japanese manufacturer also supplies the 41 mm inverted fork.

Triumph 660 Street Triple Sone of the visual strengths, and perhaps the most important, is the dual optics, more intense and modified with each chapter. Behind it, the dashboard is modern yet from another era. A digital liquid-crystal window cohabits with a monocle featuring a waving needle for the rev counter. Perfect for the 675 Street Triple - less classy and far less technological for the 765. Should we complain at a time when TFT screens are invading everything? Not really... rather irrelevant. Because the 660 Street Triple S is there to help you discover the hairy roadster gang.
Discovering also means settling for a slice when premium offers the cake. That goes for the on-board electronics, although they're far from crumbs. This 660 S has traction control, ABS and two driving modes (Road or Rain), LED lighting, and the same daytime running light signature as the RS.

The previous generation of the Triumph Street Triple S was available in two versions: 765 cm3 to be part of the family, and 660 cm3 to satisfy the demand for a young licence. The descendants simplify things. Small displacement for the boys, medium for the bads.
The choice of colors is also reduced to the essentials: just one. White and that's it.
This "little" Street Triple is also distinguished from its predecessor by a most interesting surprise. It's less expensive, with no qualms or qualms. However, its biggest threat could come from its own tribe: the 660 Trident will not hesitate to steal its share.

Is that why this Street is quietly on the move? In any case, it will be discontinued by September. Good bye, miss Triple. The ladys R and S will continue to thrill the class.

fin de production ?
French Model 2022
Hi biker community, after reading the comment about the end of production of the Street triple S, some elements such as the complete absence of this bike in all the Triumph dealerships where I passed came back to my mind. After some research, I can't find any article announcing the end of production. (I'll come back to this page to read any comments)
Anyway, to talk about this little monster I bought in March 2020, I'm just delighted with it. For 35kw in the sporty roadster category, I think it outperforms its rivals. With its three-cylinder engine, it develops plenty of torque at low revs, and surprisingly long in the first three gears for a flanged car.

For those wondering whether production of this motorcycle is indeed coming to an end: on the https://moto-station.com/moto-revue/interview/interview-triumph-jean-luc-mars-non-la-chine-ne-nous-fait-pas-peur/631687 website, Jean Luc Mars (CEO Triumph France) says: "[...] it's disappearing this year. We've simplified the range with the Trident 660, in A2 and A, the Street Triple 765 R, the Street Triple 765 RS. Why has the Street 660 left the catalog? First of all, because it's been less successful since the arrival of the Trident, that's for sure, and then there are industrial choices to be made". Rating : 4/5

Today, July 13, 2022, I learned of the end of production for this incredible machine. May its soul rest in peace. Rating : 5/5

I don't know where you got that information... That's not what Triumph dealers say..
The model is 3 years old and sells well...
