Motorcycle specifications YamahaXT 600 1992 Almost perfect simplicity

presentation of the XT 600 1992
the origins of the XT go back to the dawn of time. It is estimated to have appeared long after Jesus Christ. evolving with the moods and changes of the times, it has retained what has made it so successful: simplicity and ease. The 600 isn't the most powerful in its class, but it's alert and lively... 4-valve, air-cooled, tried and tested techniques make the XT's engine a puncture-proof single. A trail bike at heart, this Yam best-seller doesn't hesitate to take to the trails. It's not an enduro machine, but it's the queen of Corsican roads. However, it will spend most of its time in town. Its user-friendliness makes it very appealing. Electric starter, easy access to the seat, excellent handling and agility, flexible engine and accommodating gearbox... The XT has everything to please, except for 2 main false notes. The braking, which isn't very convincing, and the protection, which is rather symbolic. With the exception of these hiccups, this gromono is on the whole convincing. Anyone looking for an economical, playful and easy-to-ride machine will easily opt for it. In this segment, the Honda 650 FX is trying to cut down on the competition. No easy task, since the XT is more than just a motorcycle: it's a spirit, a lineage both popular and honored since the 500, which was in........

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 25 reviews
Great bike, but when you start out, well, it doesn't go too far ..
And then life went by and so did the bikes (about thirty of them)
5 years ago, I bought a 2000 e...very good but quite tired
So I traded it in for a gs 650 (the other very good trail bike)
And then in early 2022, I was looking for a nickel xt500 and there 9000 roros!
And not so nickel as that and there I see an xte of 1995 with 1300 bornes...
After thinking about it, go my boy!
Frankly, it's perfect for an old man, and when all's said and done, you can't get more than 4,000 revs out of it. This bike is a cruise trail (rarely does it feel like a serinity with other bikes)
In the Landes, it's the perfect bike, smooth and torquey
And of course, at home in the 06 in the summer, it's the best!
So yes, it's not a gs 12, damn it guys, it cost 4500 eur max back then and that was enough ... monos were my 1st passion and well rebelotes

Ideal for beginners, those returning to motorcycling after a period of absence, and those who just want to go for a ride.
For long trips, it's possible if you're not a fan of comfort and speed. Just let the single-cylinder "suck up" the road at its own pace.
Used parts are easy to find, and new ones are still in the Yamaha catalogs.
Nice mechanics, reliable, great looks. A real motorcycle, with all the simplicity that makes riding a pleasure.

My opinion of this bike. Well, I think it's a great bike! It doesn't cost much to maintain, you can fix almost everything yourself, and it's got very low fuel consumption (400km on a 23-liter Acerbis tank). The tires last a long time (Michelin Sirac, the best!). It holds the road well, it's quite comfortable and quite long-lasting... I've often ridden it for kilometers loaded like a mule without any problem. The engine's torque is very nice, and performance is right in the middle of the range
on the downside, there's not much to complain about. Braking is average. The lighting is a bit limited (but still okay!). Protection is non-existent..
In the end, my XT never let me down. It's been with me in all weathers without flinching. I highly recommend this bike. It's simple, efficient and good for everything. If you're looking for a bargain, don't hesitate for a minute! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Nico's

fantastic bike
a real bike
puncture-proof
not expensive (purchase + maintenance)
i've had it for 3 years, nothing to complain about
55,000 kms, including a 22,000 km tour of Europe in 3 months, indestructible
i'm still looking for what's wrong with it for a bike in this category..
to try it is to adopt it Rating : 5/5 Respond to charly
It's not very young (1990), lacks a bit of power for overtaking, and the fuel tank is a bit short (about 110km), but it's very practical for going to work and around town for short trips (100km), and costs next to nothing for maintenance and insurance. I've already had a few breakdowns with it, but as it's not packed with electronics, it's very easy to repair.
I've kept it in its original configuration, which is very practical, with a big wheel at the front for overcoming obstacles
In short, a good bike
