On-Off Road

the 1200 Super Ténéré has quietly evolved in 2014, with a little more punch, less weight, greater driving pleasure, and an identity preserved in every respect. Its legendary name has given it notoriety, but to face up to the competition, a more sophisticated version with high added content must complete the manufacturer's offer.

with an E to complement the XTZ, Yam's big trail becomes more upmarket, offering more equipment and, above all, a set of electronically-adjustable suspensions. With this system, very similar to the one fitted to the FJR 1300 AE and AS, the rider can now customize his suspension at the flick of a wrist. The Super-T joins such high-tech trail bikes as the KTM Adventure, Ducati MTS, Aprilia Caponord and BMW R 1200 GS. Some are still a step ahead, however, with semi-active suspension systems.

a multi-function knob on the handlebars, a soft control, a few micromotors and the 1200 XTZE offers 4 preload settings and 3 for damping force, making 12 main options. You can then fine-tune the settings over 7 levels. All in all, the Yamaha system offers 84 possible settings. Ciao screwdriver and wrench 12.
Like the base version, the Super Ténéré is equipped with UBS coupled braking, disconnectable ABS, traction control with 3-stage traction control, dual fuel injection mapping (touring or Sport mode), cruise control, a 112-hp twin and an irresistible driveability. To justify its premium positioning, this E version comes with 3-position heated grips, an imitation suede seat cover, top case support, large passenger grips, center stand and hand guards.

the Worldcrosser kit is the perfect way to add to your adventurous spirit. This includes a range of equipment and a more protective profile that almost lets you feel the sand.
On the Woldcrosser, the fairing sides are in carbon, as are a set of frame and fork protectors. The rear brake, chassis and driveshaft gain protective plates in black anodized aluminum. A deco kit underlines the Worlcrosser's more reckless side. With this kit, the bill climbs to well over 17,000 euros. But to complete the package, you'll need to make a detour to the options section to add the additional headlights and nipple tires, plus the Akrapovic exhaust system.

French Christophe 5507 Model 2020
I have a 2015 model, I use it every day and in all weathers to go to work (it's my car). We go away on weekends regularly and on holiday with my wife 2 or 3 times a year. My wife isn't really a motorcycle fan, but she really enjoys these trips. It's a real treat. Not a single breakdown (even a minor one), super reassuring! It's super comfortable, despite the seat being a bit hard for me. The semi-automatic suspension is really effective. The handling is very reassuring, thanks to the bike's excellent balance. I had the ECU reprogrammed, and it didn't give me any power gains, but it was surprisingly responsive and available. I've got a new engine! You still have to be careful with the weight of the bike when stationary and loaded for 15 days. It's a real shame Yamaha didn't give it a descendant. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2015
A truly superb motorcycle. Despite its considerable weight, the tuning fork brand has managed to turn this constraint on its head by keeping the weight as low as possible, making it agile and precise. It's made for the great outdoors, and swallows up the miles on roads and tracks without complaint, while offering excellent comfort for rider and passenger. Nothing is missing. TCS-controlled suspension with 3 settings. ABS, USB, cruise control, heated grips. It has nothing to envy the competition, whose prices are skyrocketing. I'm a big fan of this machine. Rating : 5/5
French Moka Model 2020
Very comfortable motorcycle that protects well (I ride all year round), made for riding far and long. I've ridden the Route Napoléon to Nice several times as a duo plus suitcases, toured Corsica... Etc... sufficiently powerful bike... Lots of torque... A must for those who hesitate. Rating : 5/5
French Plum' Model 2020
Owner of the Raid Edition since early 2020 = pure happiness! Comfort, protection, top engine (and with a nice "potato" despite what some testers say), 13,700 km on the odometer and really good stuff. To be recommended, even though it's disappearing from the Yamaha catalog (but ... when's the replacement?) Rating : 5/5
French Yam's Model 2014
Quite simply, a magical motorcycle that makes you want to ride for miles on end, without tiring at all! Pure joy!
I'm 1.86m tall, and it's true that it's the right size for me, as the riding position is high. In duo or solo, it swallows up the km without reluctance.
Super team 2014 model!!! I recommend this bike, which is much less expensive than a Gs!
Rating : 5/5
French Casey Model 2014
Superb bike, easy to ride, powerful, comfortable and efficient, very engaging, it replaces my R 1200 GS advantageously because it's the only bike in the world that doesn't have electromagnetic radiation in the saddle, it respects its rider's health and is still sporty. A real jewel. Rating : 5/5
