presentation of the X 2012
where would you go with a powerful, ultra-light, super-handling motocross bike? And what if it was also road-approved? And what if, on top of that, it ran quietly and cost only a few cents to run?
the all-new Zero X incorporates the powerplant of the Zero MX champion and, combined with its agility on the road, opens up new riding horizons on the trails. With maximum torque available from start-up, no need to shift gears, a low seat height and extremely light weight, the Zero X is the "performance" benchmark for electric motorcycles. It pushes the limits of riding on technical trails. Direct drive and weight-optimized components create a stealthy bike capable of climbing hills, flying over bumps and crossing streams.
z-Force lithium-ion battery technology and engine power are optimized for instant acceleration as soon as you turn the right-hand throttle. To extend the riding pleasure, the aluminum chassis is designed to allow quick battery changes.
what's new for 2012
by adopting the new Z-Force technology, the 2012 Zero X gains 75% range, and becomes more powerful than ever. Incorporating the same motor as the Zero MX, the Zero X is capable of accelerating to 90 km/h on land or road. Its impressive performance and road homologation make it the 'all-rounder' Zero. Finally, the Zero X adopts a modern design with new fairing elements and decoration kits.
the Zero X is only available in a road-homologated version. It's ready for roads, tracks and city streets. The Zero X is equipped with approved lights, a kickstand, mirrors, approved tires and a long gear ratio to optimize its top speed. In addition to increased range, the Zero X's new Z-Force batteries have an extended life of up to 165,000 km (before operating at 80% of their original capacity).

Thank you for the information; I had also found it on the Zero Motorcycles website, but the 2 French distributors are not very forthcoming by e-mail.... still no answer to my questions after 15 days! What's more, the models on the Zero site are not quite the same as those presented in this article (nor is the price, for model X), so it's hard to get an idea... I'll keep investigating...
