presentation of the RSV4 1100 Obscure Spe.Ed. 2027
Even the harshest weather wouldn’t dare challenge this RSV4 Obscure Spe.Ed., intimidated by its need for performance that pushes the limits of fear and the remnants of a stopwatch that was first battered and then shattered by this Aprilia. All that remains of the explosion of a timing booth is soot and ashes, which have given this hypersport from Noale its “Obscure” color.
In this Special Edition—where the manufacturer cleverly shortened the name to give it greater symbolic significance for speed—the RSV4 expresses a more pronounced taste for and desire to be on the track. A whole series of components come together to boost its agility and efficiency. Plenty of horsepower is great; electronics to control it are even better; but a finely tuned chassis is even more essential for setting a lap record.
By adopting BST carbon wheels, the Aprilia shaves more than 2 kg off its unsprung weight. This is a valuable asset for cornering, further enhancing its already excellent responsiveness. Carbon fiber is also used in air ducts to better cool the Brembo Hypure brake calipers, the fenders, the body panels under the seat, and new small winglets (“Leg Wings”) near the passenger footrests. These are designed to provide 20% more downforce on the rear tire, delivering greater traction and control.
All of these parts combine to reduce weight by 3 kg, bringing the RSV4 Obscure Special Edition down to 201 kg. You can reduce that weight to 196 units by fitting it with the ART SC-Project exhaust system. This also add 3 bourrins to its power output.
Track-Ready Feel
This RSV4 is equipped with top-notch Öhlins suspension—just like the Factory version, you might say?
Well, no. Most premium hypersports have opted for semi-active suspension, for optimal responsiveness to road conditions and the bike’s dynamics (Panigale V4 S, R1 M, CBR 1000 RR-R SP, etc.). But some pure-racing versions, like their riders, prefer mechanical suspension (Panigale V4 R, M 1000 RS). The Obscure also makes this choice, entrusting the settings and riding feel entirely to the rider. The rider will be free to fine-tune the 43-mm NIX inverted fork and its companion, the TTX shock absorber—both of which are fully adjustable in every direction.

Track hounds will be able to go all out and unleash—with little (if any) restraint—the 220 chevaux of the 1099 cm³ V4. A powerhouse, backed by 127 Nm of torque and thrills galore. To tame this missile, the onboard electronics include everything Aprilia has to offer:
- 6 riding modes
- Traction control
- Cornering ABS
- Wheelie control
- Up&Down shifter
- Engine Brake Control
- Launch Control
- Pit Speed Limiter
- Slip Control
- Race Pack: automatically adjusts traction control, wheelie control, and engine braking corner by corner, based on the rider’s preferred settings. The electronics use predictive logic to regulate rear-wheel slip, providing more precise control of the motorcycle on the track.
GPS system - 5-inch color TFT display
- MIA multimedia system
Tailored for the track, the RSV4 Obscure Spe.Ed. will be produced in a limited run of 500 numbered units. This exclusivity is confirmed on the fork crown, where the serial number is laser-engraved.
In a way, this Aprilia recaptures the spirit and some of the radical nature of the old RSV-R Factory Pista, albeit in a less exclusive form. Go for it—the timesheet is already trembling.
