presentation of the 1000 TUONO R Limited 2002

At Aprilia, we dare to expose ourselves. The Italian engineers wanted to keep things simple and devilishly effective to create an aggressive street fighter. They took the RSV 1000 R, removed the fairing and added handlebars. The result is a machine with angular lines, teasing a fierce design that black makes even meaner.

only 200 units will leave the factory The lucky few will enjoy admiring the bronze-anodized parts of the chassis. Some elements usually hidden by the RSV R 's plastic have had to be covered by carbon or Kevlar covers. As for the rest, this is a standard RSV R, i.e. an excellent sports bike equipped with Öhlins suspension and an easy, neutral and precise chassis. The large handlebars should make it even easier to handle. The machine comes with a titanium exhaust system and a chip to free the twin from our restrictive legislation - it's forbidden, isn't it? But to treat yourself to this dose of pleasure - because the Tuono offers more than enough - you'll have to break the piggy bank: like all rare and pleasurable machines, this one is (almost) priceless!

Happy owner of a Ducati 900SSie for 4 years, it was time for a change. After several unsuccessful attempts (K1200R, Hayabusa, Z1000, 998), I came across a Tuono from 2005....The revelation!
So I'm keeping my SS and now have an alternative to the radicalism of Bologna. But problem: my other half, who loves the SS, doesn't feel comfortable on the Tuono. So has anyone ever seen this type of equipment on a 2005 mod, and if so, would the supplier's address be helpful ;-) My passenger will be delighted to be able to share these sensations to the full. Thank you very much

My 2nd Tuono under my belt. Equipped with full Akrapovic titanium line, Arrow chip, 16 sprocket and racing airbox. Result: 140 bhp at 9500 rpm and 11.6 mkg at 7200 rpm, with over 10 mkg of torque at 4000 rpm. It sends power, it goes where you want it to go, it's got a mouth, it's got character, it does what it wants: it's Italian and it's a blast. A Twin rots everything on the spot!
Maintenance is no more onerous than on a Japanese bike, and comfort puts us in the attack and no-limit category. The bike isn't very easy to adjust when you start to get your fingers into the fork and rear shock settings... but once you've got it right, the bike rides much better and is more stable and less cabriole
Unfortunately not seen enough on the road, as many don't dare to take the step of buying Italian.... and yet they're wrong :)

A pure joy every day, superb efficiency, an amazing chassis and braking that's up to the challenge! Rating : 5/5

+ I've had my license for over 20 years and I drive every day. I've had a TUONO for almost 2 years now, and it's just like the first day, pure joy. My only regret is not being able to open the door, otherwise the speed limit is far exceeded. But from time to time, on a few winding national roads, I put the pedal to the metal and it's a real pleasure. Avoiding freeways is a pain, even with an Ermax bubble that's 2 cm higher than the original. Above 150, it becomes a pain, and I'm being polite. For those who like the supermotar position, it's really ideal. Perhaps the only criticism is that the engine is too sharp (too competition-oriented) and therefore not very pleasant below 4,500 rpm. It's my second and I love the strong character of this bike, very precise in curves as well as its hellish braking, although I've had a lot of bikes, but its temperament is unique and I prefer it to the others. Rating : 5/5

In 2004, I rode 7,500 km on this arm-lengthening machine, and to make it even more playful, I lowered the fork tubes slightly into the tees, giving Miss Tuono even more liveliness
In terms of fuel consumption, it guzzles up to 10 liters, depending on the speed
On the racetrack (Hockenheim,Dijon....), with its racing pot and chip, it's a formidable tool. It's a pity that the spacing of the arms exessively relieves the front wheel beyond 200 kms/h. To the point of floating towards the 250 mph mark, which it easily reaches
On the maintenance side, no oil consumption, easy access for oil change and spark plugs (except for one in the front cylinder), and a great deal of patience
To protect the oil cooler, which is very exposed to gravel, I've concocted a very effective plasticized grille, fixed to the boot
Watch out for the fabric saddles (which I prefer for their looc), as they get waterlogged, and I've concocted two little plastic covers to protect them when they float
So far, I'm delighted with this machine, which has the added advantage of being almost unique in my neck of the woods (L'Alsace)

I bought my Tuono 1000 on June 19 and have already clocked up 5500 kms in 3 months (only at weekends and from October onwards the bike is in the garage due to the weather conditions in the region). Weird at first compared to a 4-cylinder (it's my 1st twin). The torque is quite strong, but not much more than other machines. That's why I fitted a complete titanium racing line from AKRAPOVIC. The gain is clear and appreciable, yet I'm considering fitting a racing chip, a racing airbox with the addition of spark plug wires and a camshaft with piston grinding
The only criticisms that can be levelled at it: the cost of maintenance, the riding position, the ineffective protection above 150 km/h, the Italian character (but that's why we love them)
An exceptional, playful motorcycle to hit the speed cameras.......

My 10th motorcycle, bought second-hand What a great toy! I've gone from the Z1000 to the Tuono, and when it comes to comfort, it's not a midget's bike! Rating : 5/5

I've just bought one and have had it for 5 days, it's total bliss. I'm having trouble getting past sixth gear because I can't go faster than 6,000 rpm when I'm running it in, because at 6,000 I'm already going faster than 150 km/h Rating : 5/5

here's the last of this nasty roadster comparo (see Mv agusta and Buell),finally a bike in my size, the steering damper isn't there to look pretty, every time you accelerate the front wheel has a nasty tendency to go up to the sky and this machine is a competition stuntman. One week behind the wheel of one of these bikes has reduced my wrists to shreds, and my wrists are sore too, but it's heartbreaking to have to part with them...
