Motorcycle specifications ApriliaFV2 1200 2008 The mad scientist's machine

this FV2 prototype is crazy stuff in a nutshell. It's a machine that's escaped from the laboratory of a mad scientist. With this majestic and spectacular prototype, Aprilia lifts part of the veil on its future achievements. Starting with its big V-twin.
The 1200 encapsulated in the FV2 is based on the RSV-R 1000 engine. A renowned twin-cylinder engine, here swelled to 1196 cm3. Rated at 134.5 bhp, this distiller's main asset is its massive torque (10.5 mkg), available at its maximum from 4,000 rpm. If you decide to unleash this beast on the streets infested with Japanese street-fighters, it's sure to set the tone.
we wouldn't dream of it, but it would be a treat to see this machine go head-to-head with the category's heavyweights. Its streamlined silhouette, all of a piece, stretched to the maximum on its torso, is an intense expression of bestiality. It's impossible not to be captivated; a monster... a beast... a bundle of muscle bursting with technique. Electronics and carbon are everywhere. This material makes up the frame, the fork arms with their very special structure, the swingarm, and mixes with aluminum compounds to support the seat.
Each element reinforces the machine's demonic and delicious appearance. The radiator with its braided hoses would almost make you sweat. A slight glance at it and you're ready for the fury of the side-mounted megaphones, installed as they are on American sports cars (Viper first). The tires are nothing less than Pirelli Diablo Superbikes, the kind you'd expect from a compèt' shoe where the treads are merely decorative...
weighing in at a mere 160 kg dry weight, with a big mill and a devastating mouth, the FV2 1200 deserves to shake up today's street-fighters. Unfortunately, it's only a concept car, but it's so advanced and accomplished that we can only hope for a sequel. One thing's for sure, though, and that's that its engine will soon be powering a number of models in the Aprilia range. In the meantime, let's hope the enthusiasm spreads all the way to Noale to convince the brand to bring the FV2 to life.
