The Diavel V4 hadn’t yet been given an “S” version. The first Diavel also had to wait (8 years) for such a version. Because that’s exactly what this is: the biggest selling point of this S variant is its high-end suspension from the Swedish manufacturer.

With its “golden legs,” the Diavel V4 S exudes even more class. And that’s not all: in Bologna, they’ve paid more attention to it than to its sister model, with the rims machined to a brushed finish, the addition of heated grips, the installation of a lighter lithium-ion battery—3 kg lighter on the scale— and a wide range of color options—just like those of the Panigale V4 S. Enthusiasts with deep enough pockets can choose from classic, sporty, or even flamboyant liveries by selecting from the Lamborghini collection.

But let’s get back to its famous semi-active suspension. The Öhlins components are managed by the Smart EC-3 electronic platform. The suspension settings are linked to the Riding Modes, allowing the 48-mm NIX 30 inverted fork and the ARX40 shock absorber to be adjusted according to the road profile and the desired riding style. The system adjusts compression and rebound in real time. It emphasizes rebound slightly during sporty riding to make the Diavel V4 S more stable and also more responsive when entering corners. Conversely, when a constant speed is detected, the damping becomes softer to provide a bit more comfort. In short, the suspension detects when you’re pushing hard and when you’re cruising.

Beyond that, the bike boasts the same features as the base Diavel V4 (which is already quite impressive), with its sporty 168-horsepower 4-cylinder engine, its hypersport-style Stylema brakes, the massive rear tire (240 mm, no less…), user-friendly electronics, a subtle styling update, a new, wider instrument panel packed with more information, fire in your hands, and smoke at the edges of the tires.

As for the price, it can’t really be described as unreasonable, reasonable, or exclusive—perhaps all three at once. Like the heads of Cerberus, if you were to keep him as a pet.
