presentation of the 1200 Monster S Black on Black 2020
Ducati has long had its own definition of "Black". For a time, a placid black covered the so-called "Dark" models, for those who favored sensations over color; with the bonus of a slightly lower price tag.
This Monster 'Black on Black' does exactly the opposite. It raises the level of expression, as well as the price, and presents itself as a lady of the night with the heart of a tigress.
with its kickstand unfolded, a ray of sunlight on the fork tubes or a flash of moonlight on the fuel tank, a slight smell of Italy on its back and of hot metal, the big Monster waits patiently to show its verve. It presents itself very well in this Black livery, with glossy or matte black topcoats. Visually, it seeks to stand out with expansive discretion. An infusion of scarlet bleeds from a corner of the rims, like canines biting into a submissive asphalt.
Once shy, dark becomes majestic with this Ducati. Those Italians are good!
just decoration? Yes, just that. This beautiful bike is well presented, for a slightly fuller check, with the values of an iron-strong 1200 S as its main assets. With its 147-strong twin, the Monster has plenty of trunk to spare. Not as much as the segment's big streetfighters, but enough to accelerate emotions and heart rates beyond reason. The S is synonymous with great equipment (adjustable Öhlins suspension throughout, Brembo M50 brakes with 330 mm discs, carbon front mudguards, daytime running lights, up&down shifter); the machine is symptomatic of first-rate engineering. Minimalist tubular steel trellis frame contrasts with abundant electronics. From one end of the bike to the other, you'll find no less than a dashboard with TFT color display, an IMU inertial unit, curve-active ABS, traction control, three riding modes, anti-wheeling and three power modes.
so, all this for just a deco!?! Insert the key, start the Testastretta, let this stud farm bred in the heart of Bologna belch out.... We'll talk about it when we get back.
