presentation of the CVO 131 Road Glide RR FLTRXRRSE 2025
Harley has really gone all out this time. With a level of intensity that even Ducati wouldn’t have dared to attempt. With the CVO Road Glide RR, MoCo has created a high-performance GT equipped with racing parts. It’s a bike that blurs the lines so much that it’s hard to tell where the boundary lies between the road, racing, and sheer madness.
This entire bike is a paradox! Its engine is one of the heaviest in production motorcycle manufacturing, yet it’s tuned for maximum performance. It weighs as much as a horse but is packed with lightweight components. Some of its parts are intended for the World Superbike Championship, yet it’s a touring bike with saddlebags. At Honda, it would be a GoldWing RR Fireblade SP.
Racing in every breath
This is what happens when you enter an iconoclastic competition and let your Racing team engineers have drinks with those from Custom Vehicle Operations. One group brings the most advanced components for tearing up the track, while the other envisions a luxury, armored model featuring those very same components. The result of this hangover: the most extreme bagger ever, powered by the most powerful engine in Harley’s entire history.
The Milwaukee Eight twin is pushed to an even larger displacement than on other CVOs. The Road Glide ST’s 121 reaches 1,977 cc. That was the biggest at H-D until the RR. Where an increase in bore and a reduction in connecting rod stroke allow it to reach 2,147 cc. A single cylinder can hold the entire combustion chamber of a Kawa Ninja 1100 SX. That’s enough to deliver a punch a world away from Harley-Davidson’s reputation. This one delivers 153 horsepower at just 5,750 rpm. The torque could knock over a bear with its 20.4 mkg, reached at 4,750 rpm.

That’s what the M8 Screamin’ Eagle 131 can unleash from its depths. But these have received a massive dose of high-end components: SE8-550 high-performance camshaft, larger valves, Stage IV cylinder heads, CNC-machined combustion chambers and ports, 68 mm intake, upgraded valve lifters and springs, a high-volume oil pump, a 7075 aluminum (aerospace-grade) clutch bell housing, a more precise and robust Racing King 6 transmission, a smaller final drive sprocket, machined aluminum cases... and to really breathe it out, the Road Glide RR gets an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, which is 4.5 kg lighter.
An exceptional chassis
That was just the engine. Because when it comes to the chassis, it’s pure madness. Enough to make a Panigale V4R sick:
- A 43 mm Öhlins FGR 253 inverted fork. It’s practically the same one used in Moto2 and Superbike.
- Two Öhlins TTX29 shock absorbers with reservoirs mounted above the side cases
- Machined aluminum fork triple clamps
- 50 mm increased ground clearance
- 3° more lean angle on each side, for a total of 35° to the left and 36° to the right (so it scrapes pretty quickly)
- A 6061 aluminum swingarm machined from solid stock and heavily perforated. An exceptional piece. The designers start with a 99 kg block of metal to end up with an 8.9 kg component after machining.
- Brembo GP4-RX brake calipers, machined from aluminum, monoblock, nickel-plated, and incredibly effective. Here too, close to SBK
- Brembo T-Drive discs, 320 mm in diameter and 5.5 mm thick. More than enough to handle the beast’s 356 kg
- Carbon fiber everywhere: fenders, fuel tank cover, fork clamps, radiator shroud, side covers
- And a mix of carbon and Kevlar for the fairing and panniers.

You might think you’ve seen a spec sheet for a bike meant to tear up the track.......
Not at all! It’s ready to devour miles with its massive fairing, its Rockford Fosgate Stage III sound system featuring 250-watt speakers, and its 500-watt 4-channel amplifier. In front of the rider’s eyes, a metal clamp screen-printed “CVO RR” holds the handlebars, while the 12.3-inch color TFT screen ensures infotainment. Radio, music, GPS, phone, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 9 riding modes. The Road Glide RR boasts an extravagant array of features to handle any situation.
The “Road,” “Sport,” and “Rain” modes tailor the ride to your mood; Four customizable modes let you program your preferences for power delivery, torque management, traction control, ABS, and engine braking; then the “Track” and “Track Plus” modes transform the bagger into a track bike by toning down or even disabling certain riding aids. And enjoy days on the track. Riding aids ensure active safety (cornering ABS, electronic combined braking, angle-sensitive traction control, residual torque management) as well as comfort with tire pressure monitoring and hill start assist.
For the discerning rider
Even the riding position has been redesigned. New footrests and billet aluminum controls optimize foot placement. The solo seat helps keep the rider firmly in place during acceleration. As for the handlebars, raised by 15 cm and featuring a flatter bend, they are designed to sit the rider up straighter and offer greater control.

Harley has completely lost its mind with this CVO Road Glide RR. The “King of the Baggers” fever has undeniable consequences for the two protagonists of the race: in 2023, Indian released a Challenger RR customer competition bike; this time, it’s Milwaukee pulling out all the stops with a street-legal model heavily infused with racing DNA. Staggering, this true emperor of the category will be produced in a limited run of just 131 units, at a price just as crazy as the bike itself: $110,000. A sensation reserved exclusively for the U.S. market, at select dealerships.
