Sport

shaken up by the R1 and threatened by the recent ZX-9R, the 900 CBR is getting a complete overhaul to return to the top of the hypersports hierarchy. And Honda hasn't done things by halves. New, tauter, more aggressive design, new 4-cylinder engine, new chassis with quality components. Beneath the new, menacingly smiling headlamp unit, an inverted fork makes its appearance, the wheel size has been upgraded to the standard 17", and braking is provided by 2 huge 330 mm diameter discs. At the rear, the swingarm is worthy of a GP machine. Particularly imposing, it is no longer anchored to the frame but to the engine casings. This brings it closer to the gearbox output pinion and improves traction. The new engine is smaller and lighter, with an output of 929 cm3 (10.5 more than before) and 153 horsepower. It also benefits from the latest technological refinements: PGM-FI injection and an exhaust valve to improve torque.
Renowned for its user-friendly, ultra-efficient sports car qualities on the road, the Fireblade was a heavyweight on the racetrack. Today, Honda is determined to return to the forefront. The bike has been radicalized to become a track beast. Lightened to the max (199 kg wet weight), refined and ready to attack, the CBR remains true to the philosophy of its lineage, "Total Control". The rider sits further forward on the new 900, can better squeeze the machine between the legs, but still finds Honda's welcoming qualities. Pleasant controls, excellent ergonomics, smooth, velvety engine... which delivers its power with gusto but without overpowering you. Less impressive than the R1's (very) torquey block, the 929 is particularly alert yet progressive. Honda's good education can be felt in the pistons, and works wonders on open roads. It does, however, lack the madness that intoxicates Yam tamers.

where the new CBR is fantastic is in its handling. The chassis is more than a tool, it's a saber. A blade that never deviates from its trajectory, even when the road surface is indisposed. The suspension is perfectly tuned to both "feel" the road and attack with complete peace of mind. The chassis is lively and rigid, just about ideal. And when it's time to stop, the discs glue the bike to the pavement.
Ultra-efficient, the CBR 900 retains its homogeneity on the road. In the face of the competition, its radical options keep its head held high - not the rider, who has to contend with recessed protection. At high speeds, getting out of the bubble is perilous. The price, too, has reached the pinnacle of its pretensions. But a hypersport of this talent deserves a few sacrifices.

This is my 37th bike, and it's certainly not as explosive as some of my older bikes. But it's the honda philosophy of total control and a very good overall finish, and I LOVE the trunk under the passenger seat. In short, a great bike ✌️ Rating : 4/5

It's very playful, a real pleasure.

I find this 930 CBR rather homogeneous. unlike the previous model, its design is more high tech and aerodynamic; things are more appreciable!
and it remains my favorite

I bought my 929 in 2006, with 32mkms. Great machine, reliable, fun to ride, practical with its little box under the seat, which you need when you turn the handle. Today it's running like clockwork, but I've just blocked the odometer: 99999kms! Apart from replacing the speedo, is there any way to reset it to zero? I'm up for another 100miles :-) Thanks for your help. Rating : 5/5

French Model 2000
Hello,
I bought this bike 4 months ago and it has 41000 km,
Originally blue white red, I put it in repsol, simply beautiful! Small line yoshimura, debridage full! Dyno tuned to 157 hp! She runs very hard, handles very well, a real pleasure! Less brusque than the r1 or the Gsxr, it's still a true sports car that deserves to be driven with love and delicacy, very reliable and very precise, it does drag a little on the track... In short, it's a monster that shouldn't be entrusted to just anyone! She's already 12 years old, but I hope to make another 12!
Sincerely, the crazy biker from Rueil Malmaison!

great bike, except for the unpleasant jolt from the engine when you step on the throttle in second gear in town, for example, at low revs, due to the fuel injection. Rating : 5/5

this message is for steph16.your bike in my opinion is not completely unbridled, mine has 152 hp on the dyno.that's why I wonder.I have a kn filter and a sport exhaust but it is not with that that you gain 12 hp.in my opinion either the shims of the intake pipes are still in place or it is not electronically unbridled at the level of electronic management (go see lagambas.com) Rating : 5/5
French Model 2000
i bought my 929 4 months ago and it had 16500kms! no worries or problems on the horizon! just a little surprise when i put it through the power dyno...(140hp)! it runs very very strong compared to my old 750 yzf which still had some under its feet despite its 12 years of age! in short this bike is to buy with eyes closed, quality, reliability, finish, good looks, everything for it.... except the consumption!.hai hai...but (140hp) too. i've had this bike since december 2006.it had 40000 kms.and well i can tell you that it's nothing but happiness.the hairy acceleration and the top speed which has nothing to envy to the sportbikes of now except maybe the less ease with which it winds up.ma well at least it's usable compared for example to the 1000 gsxr k5 of my buddy who can't put the handle in the corner on pain of rolling over. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2000
i bought this bike 43000 km ago and now it's 47000 and no problem, it's black and beautiful and a lot of people want to buy it from me, no way. at the beginning i wanted to put it in full throttle because of the power and the feeling it gives me bridled, it's very good that way. even a friend with a bridled 1000gsxr year 2006 wanted to play and frankly i'm stuck with it. reliability, nothing to say, normal, it's signed HONDA! Rating : 5/5
French Model 2000
my wife and I bought two 929s from 2001, one equipped for stunt riding only and it does it very well (light, powerful, fuel injected and sturdy) and the other as a sports bike (for riding and also for stunt riding...) and yes, my wife also rides one, so in conclusion there's nothing to say except that it's a terrific machine and much more besides... Rating : 5/5

I OWN A YELLOW AND BLACK CBR929 MODEL 2001
IT HAS 49,000 KLM ON THE ODOMETER AND DESPITE EVERYTHING IT'S STILL GOING STRONG IT'S A COMFORTABLE MACHINE FOR A SPORTS BIKE, VERY LIVELY AND FULL OF LIFE (NOT TO BE LEFT IN THE HANDS OF A YOUNG RIDER) IT'S TRUE THAT IT'S DIFFICULT TO KNOW THE REAL NUMBER OF HORSEPOWER BUT WHAT'S THE POINT IN THE END?
THE TORQUE IS IMPRESSIVE, EVEN TODAY WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE BEASTS THAT HANG AROUND MOTORCYCLE SHOWS. BON ROUTE

French Model 2000
i own a 600 cbr fs and recently had the opportunity to test this machine, even though it's a bit heavier than the 600, it's still a real pleasure to ride on the road and to tame on the track. to answer stephane's question, the power announced is not a lie, but that measured at the crankshaft is generally greater than that measured at the wheel by journalists. Rating : 5/5
French Model 2000
i bought this machine new in June 2000. I had a few problems with it under warranty (reserve light out of order, spark plug out of order after 3000 km). Otherwise, I drove it for 20,000 km. It's a very pleasant machine, stable and lively. It has a good engine with a hole at around 4000 rpm. The only drawback is that Honda's advertised commercial power (152 hp) has never been verified by any journalist (max 144 hp, I believe). So the only real reproach I have for it is this lie (simply the unpleasant impression that HONDA lied to sell it, even though I was going to buy it anyway!) Rating : 5/5
