Motorcycle specifications HondaVTR 1000 F FIRESTORM 2002 A flawless Ducat

presentation of the VTR 1000 F FIRESTORM 2002
lovers of big sporty twins no longer have to look exclusively to Italy. Honda has created the VTR for them, a sporty bike with character that remains faithful to the company's philosophy of versatility and easy access. The mill has character in spades. The manufacturer has designed an all-new engine, quite turbulent for a Honda. Water-cooled by 2 side-mounted radiators, it's a 90° twin fed by 2 huge 48 mm carburetors. You'll find torque spilling out all over the place, and a fiery temperament that manifests itself at the slightest twist of the right hand. Although a little linear, the mill pushes hard, unburdening the front end at the slightest opportunity. At high speeds, the front end is underloaded, making it light and influential. In sporty driving conditions, the steering is highly effective and the chassis agile. The VTR is firm, precise, exciting and well-damped, except on unfriendly roads. Braking is good, but limited when the going gets rough. It's not boring to ride, but its range is ridiculous. The twin is greedy and the fuel tank is only 16 litres. In 2001, this was increased by 3 (for a total of 19 liters), but it's still not enough. A very good sportbike, it also boasts a big sister, the SP-1, with an impressive track record.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 66 reviews
well, another one screwed me, but the first one got tasted...in short, a little monster...gets up to 200 in less than 10, adorable...but...very greedy!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to FX
and really, the vtr is still the most appealing chassi/motorcycle
the bi = life! no need for long straights to have fun, it responds directly and pushes hard. i keep it ðŸ' Rating : 5/5 Respond to lolo17
Quel becane ,in a word since 1998 first hand no defect except the conso 8 liters is about 180 km with a full tank.
it arrives 57000km and makes permanently detonations to the deceleration
i've had a late service and the distribution chain has never been serviced.
The valves and carburettor have been cleaned with l\'ultra son and sincro carburettor have been done.
do the distri suprimer has it detonation.
merci de vos conseils ericvtr .
a bientôt. Rating : 5/5 Respond to vtr1000
Or maybe the idle circuit isn't properly cleaned of carburetors. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
Is it possible to fit CBR 954 brake calipers without modifying the VTR1000F calipers?
Sincerely Rating : 4/5 Respond to Fab_68
She's a joy to ride...
Not too sporty a stance, but sporty character and handling.
And what a noise with the IXILs.

The repression, the uselessness of looking for motorcycles, made me turn to a bi (I'd had an SV650).
Honda being a benchmark for reliability, I snapped up a late 97 VTR, 50,000km, high MIG pot, black.
What a pleasure, it vibrates, that crazy torque, that noise, I love it all! Rating : 5/5 Respond to vaux mieux tard
the ducat without the hassle and with the protection :-) Rating : 5/5 Respond to guyyyy
I've been riding a 2000 VTR for two years now, and after a year I was hit by the VTR curse...the front distri chain tensioner retired! So I changed the block (manual tensioner), converted it into a street bike and finally fitted a complete 929 cbr front axle... this bike is just brilliant... As for its shortcomings, the two mig high positions (chicanes cut) make you forget everything at the first stroke of the throttlezzzzzz.. Rating : 5/5 Respond to fabrice
i bought a 2000 in June of this year, I love everything about this bike, yes I know the autonomy and fuel consumption but I'm 58 and at my age you can't stop pissing
and for a few extra euros for the fuel consumption, it's a lot of fun to ride.
salut à tous. Rating : 4/5 Respond to LANAR
make sure you get the engine settings right: TPS, synchro and richness,
and it'll take you fast and furious
yes, range is not its strong point (especially pre-2001 models)
a few problems with the tension regulator and timing tensioners
beware of the braking system, which can sometimes be limited (remedy: avia hoses + CBR 954 calipers). Rating : 5/5 Respond to raynman
Even when I'm out and about, I'm carried away by the sound of the mill "improved" by 2 remus grand prix in the original position..
This spout is aging serenely, both aesthetically and mechanically...it's solid!
my only regret is that I don't think I'll be changing bikes until it's definitely gone..
No other bike gives me the impression that I'll find as much ++++++..
I'll be off to my garage soon to tell her I love her...;-)
gazzzzz
(if you didn't understand what I was talking about because you own a 4 cylinder: that's normal) Rating : 5/5 Respond to tomtom
This is my 4th VTR out of 50 bikes, a 97 with 40,000KM
This one has low lazer pots, the previous ones had high DAM and DEVIL pots and low BOS, but still the same cavernous sound to make the Italians swoon
Consumption: when you love it, you don't count!
What's more, two euros more on a ride with a VTR or a Yam Diversion, what's your choice?
The only thing to watch out for is downshifting, and it's better to keep your hand on the clutch, like ROSSI (lol), to relieve the engine brake and the rear wheel lock-up
By the way, I rarely touch the brakes on a flowing ride, because she's got so much engine braking
Hi to all bikers. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Alex
I'M KEEPING IT FOR A LONG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to diesel
1st test with the mechanic (who was riding a fazer): 160 on a small road in the middle of the pampas, I freaked out from start to finish! I pissed myself every time I hit the throttle! the rear wheel locked up as soon as you dropped a gear too early! I kept repeating to myself "don't downshift, especially not"!
after my 600 ZZR, wow, I've learned the meaning of the words "torque" and "rebound"!
the only drawback (not the autonomy, I don't care) is that the selector is useless! you put yourself in 3rd gear and do everything from 0 to 200! it's just great!
THANK YOU HONDA!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to bwarp
I have a 2000 petrol blue VTR F which is now on its 50,000kms
What can I say? One small weakness: the range, that's all. As for the rest, nothing to say, it's reliable, strong, precise and relatively versatile. A bike that, without making any noise, will forever remain a benchmark: well done Honda for the pleasure you get from riding it
I'd like to keep it for a long time, even though I've recently been eyeing a Hayabusa, just to get a taste of other pleasures, but is that really reasonable? Rating : 5/5 Respond to Lamite36

I'm currently having a cylinder cut-off problem, I can't tell whether it's the fuel or the ignition.
I've thought of changing it, but to what? I love it too much, it's fun to drive, even without any modifications, but the tires aren't 5000.... Rating : 5/5 Respond to zazard
only flaw, but we'll forgive it: it drinks a lot (8/9 l on average), but the right-hand grip is such a treat! :p
top speed 270 km/h (280 original) Rating : 5/5 Respond to ryo_saeba
I think that the criticism of range literally depends on the driving style
In the Gorges du Verdon this summer as a duo, I went up to 315 km before refueling! Ballade oblige
I've got two aluminum Léovince pots and everything else is original
The sound is enormous. Pure joy. It's a real tractor. Rating : 5/5 Respond to stephvar83
the one I have at the moment is a version imported from the USA and it runs like clockwork
very good bike
nothing beats a good twin

now I'm riding a '99 900cbr that I'm selling
if I have to buy a real bike it will be a vtr
without any problem because I regret it even my wife tells me that I should have kept it hello everyone and good luck
route a tous Rating : 5/5 Respond to fab77
i've been a two-cylinder fan since I first tried it (a long time ago). before, it was an italian [L] but maintenance was too expensive for my budget. I switched2 to a VTR and it's just HAPPY
2 small drawbacks: consumption and the thimble instead of a tank, and also for the duo where the passenger is not at the party on long trips
voila: it's not for sale ;)

After a 3-year break, the virus is coming back, I've got to find another one, but I'm planning a backpack to act as a fuel reserve... ;-) Rating : 5/5 Respond to Buzzz
nothing to say,easy,reliable,torque...
c'est de la balle
but I'd like the same in a more recent model...but there are no twin-cylinders left in the honda catalog !!!! :-((( Rating : 5/5 Respond to galopin
Pros: easy-to-read speedometer, flat handlebars, driver comfort, easy to handle
The minuses: only usable between 5000 and 9500 rpm, bland 100hp engine (little push, then not so much...), brakes with little bite, fuel consumption and choke (carburetor). Rating : 5/5 Respond to manu.du12
once tamed....
... it's a blast
easy to handle, easy to ride, try it and you'll love it. Rating : 5/5 Respond to décoifffff
in fact, i've been riding a 125 for 5 years, and i was quickly amazed at how easy it was to ride this machine. it's just like my 125, but with the added bonus of a mill that eats everything you throw at it. the acceleration is mind-boggling, and the handling is spot-on! only the fuel consumption makes me worry a bit... but i'll have to drive less! otherwise, it's not bad as a first bike! Rating : 5/5 Respond to nico
but what a pleasure to own it. we don't see enough of them on our roads. The twin is the best way to have fun on the road Rating : 5/5 Respond to malax
