Motorcycle specifications Indian1830 Pursuit Elite 2025 A road above

Like Harley, Indian knows how to vary the pleasures of travel with large baggers and imposing tourers. The most powerful and invigorating of these is undoubtedly the Pursuit, a huge liner designed for extreme mileage.
But the Americans designed this type of machine in several demonstrations: imposing and furnished; or imposing and furnished with luxury. The Pursuit Elite takes this approach. With an even higher quality finish and equipment, it cruises like a small yacht.
American postulate
Absent from the catalog in 2024, it returns this year with even more assets, including a"Black Forest Candy with Black Candy, Gold, Titanium and Gloss Black" paint finish, heralding an eloquent level of quality and craftsmanship. It takes 24 hours to create this forest-green coating of lively glitter in the dark, with the delicacy of hand-drawn gold edging.
The dashboard console receives a similar treatment. And what can I say about the upholstery other than 'superb'? The sofa... I'm sorry, the heated seat and the backrest with its many stitching details are one of this machine's greatest assets. The mere sight of this seat instinctively provokes a feeling of comfort.
One minor disappointment is that the cylinder heads have lost their bronze finish, which gave an expansive cachet to this machine(powerful but less contemplative than the air-powered Thunderstroke). On the other hand, the strength has changed with the new vintage. All Indian tourers are powered by the PowerPlus 112 engine, a few cc larger, with 126 hp and 181.4 Nm.
With it, the Pursuit can count on 18.5 mkg of torque at 3,600 rpm. Quite a force to be reckoned with, and more "nervous" than the air-block on the old Chief, Springdielf, Chieftain and Roadmaster. Slightly less full at low revs, the block here doesn't offer its consistency until a little later in the revs, but takes its revenge with more length and watts.
But let's get back to the Elite's more premium equipment. Between the large brake discs, Brembo M4 calipers and drive belt are special "Precision Cut" rims. The bike is fitted with a Bosch inertial unit to improve traction control, ABS and torque management in corners. The Pathfinder S Adaptive headlight is also angle-sensitive.
This Pursuit can also adjust its Fox rear shock absorber electronically from the dashboard, but only the preload.
Commodos are backlit, more stylish running boards are ready to welcome your boots, the passenger is entitled to armrests; then contact. From there, it's a case of indecision: do you want to enjoy the crackle and puff of the engine without limits, or indulge in a bit of rock and pop now and then?
Indian's premium tourer has thought of everything, with 6 speakers scattered throughout. 600 watts of sound are there to power them. Enough to overcome the noise of the twin and the speed, especially since the amps and the 9-band equalizer will take care of turning up the sound according to the pace. So let's put on RTL2, Oxygène radio or your smartphone via the Bluetooth/USB link. The on-board infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay, a GPS system, and a year's free Ride Command +. All information is displayed on a large 7-inch screen.
Like all Pursuits, the Elite is no slouch when it comes to electronics, with three Driving Modes, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring, keyless entry and locking of the luggage compartment (over 140-liter capacity), automatic deactivation of the rear cylinder, electric windshield, heated grips, all LED lighting, 12V port, radar system with blind spot detector, rear collision warning and approach warning, hill start assist, combined braking... But no electric reverse gear. This would come in handy in certain situations to move this 428-kilo beast.
Senator of travel
The Pursuit offers royal protection in the form of a large glass window in front of the muzzle, a foamy fairing and a refrigerator front end. Let's not forget that the Pursuit claims to be a bit sporty, with its surprisingly sporty front end for a bike in this category (Brembo radials, inverted forks, 320 mm discs). A very, very relative sportiness, while those interested will remember the Pursuit Elite's poise and ode to comfort.
On a more painful note, the Pursuit Elite is by far the most expensive bike in the Indian range. The manufacturer plans to sell 250 units in all countries.
