presentation of the 1890 ROADMASTER Elite 2020
The most sumptuous of all Roadmasters, at the pinnacle of the Indian range, now gets an engine worthy of its status. In this case, the Thunderstroke 116, with its 1,890 cm3 cubic capacity, is full of steel, throat and strength. The heart of a steroid-treated bovine, enormous in presence and copious in torque. More than 17 mkg between the legs, grunting and snarling, it gives you an image of this vessel before propelling it across vast expanses. This twin also shows its shamelessness with swathes of red on the covers housing the rocker rods.
In this new vintage, this Indian has not only added displacement and power. It has also gained a 19-inch wheel and a new rim design... and lost a little too. The protective bars in front of the suitcases have disappeared, as has the chrome hoop in front of the front mudguard.
Like Harley-Davidson's CVOs, America's second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has high value-added machines, shimmering with opulence and capable of establishing a certain idea of prestige. At Indian, this brand is called Elite. The Roadmaster embellishes this name to the utmost. For lovers of richly endowed ocean liners, it's a sight to behold. What class! Such poise! And what mass! America shows off and takes control of the great outdoors.
The Roadmaster Elite takes the brand to the next level. That of the very top of the range. The road had already been blazed with the Chieftain Limited and Elite , but this is a clear step up. Already imposing, the standard Roadmaster seems almost bland by comparison. This is where the superb two-tone paintwork really comes into its own. Each bike is hand-painted, the vintage here showing off its elegance with'Thunder Black Vivid Crystal over Gunmetal Flake'. The Elite doesn't count time, taking 30 hours to paint alone.

returning to the engine, it's always worth a close look. An admirable ode to metal, brimming with pace and torque, it can be combined with three driving modes to multiply the road experience (Tour - Standard - Sport). It can also deactivate its rear cylinder automatically, depending on certain temperature parameters, to ensure the driver's comfort when the Roadmaster is stationary.

Have you found a place to relax? Relax after stowing your belongings in the luggage compartment. The trunk can accommodate two helmets - giving the bike a total load capacity of 140 liters.
And now you're in trouble. It used to be that all you had to do was write a huge cheque and snap up an H-D Limited CVO or a Road Glide CVO. Now, this Roadmaster Elite is part of the game, and it's much trickier to choose. Only 225 units will be produced.
