although the youngest of Akashi's custom bikes, the VN900 can't help but want to play on the road like its big brother. Its twin may be half the displacement, but it too has decided to go on an expedition. The big 1700 Light Tourer chose a cruising line: travel light; the 900 wants to do the same. With the right pack, it becomes a VN 900 Light Tourer Deluxe. In the game of mimicry, this custom mid-size holds its own. Its equipment is even slightly richer than that of the big VN 1700, as it includes a sissy-bar and an additional set of lights. It almost looks like a mini-road king. A large windscreen and two 15-liter leather suitcases are also included for travelling.

It's a nice machine for everyday use, with a comfortable seat and generous windscreen to protect you from the elements. The clutch and gearbox are smooth, and the engine is generous, with good acceleration for a 900. The belt drive is welcome, and the braking is adequate.
The only hitch: an extremely alarmist fuel gauge (the light comes on at 150km, whereas the machine has a real range of 260kms!).
