presentation of the Z 1000 SX 2013
since the discontinuation of the big ZRX 1200 roadsters (except in Japan), there's been no big, road-leaning machine in the Kawa range. A pity, since the other Japanese manufacturers still keep a representative in their catalog. Admittedly, the cold shower of the Z 750 S may have tempered the ardor and desires of the Z family, but Kawa is back with a much more substantial and surprising machine. It's the big, bad, disturbed and disruptive Z 1000 that's been chosen to take on the role of tourer. But this Z 1000 SX goes a long way.
it's not a fork head like the Fazer or Bandit, but a full fairing. With its big eyes and sporty face, it looks like an extrapolation of the ER-6 F, and even a revival of the expression of the ZRX 1200 S. The two-tone paintwork is both very expressive and seriously successful. With this all-round package, the Z 1000 SX considerably extends the roadster's range of action, especially as it also features a large, 3-position adjustable windscreen, large passenger handgrips, and a large, comfortable rear seat.passenger grips, twice as much space under the saddle as on the standard Z, a larger 19-liter fuel tank, and improved seating for the crew. The technical specifications are those of the Z 1000, so as to retain all the spirit and expression of the streetfighter of the hottest neighborhoods.

To unlock it, two conditions must be met: the bike must be at least Euro3 approved, and it must be fitted with ABS. Otherwise, it's forbidden. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

But you get the hang of it...
On the road, the seat height gives the impression of being on a large road trail (like a TDM) rather than a sporty GT.
The engine is generous, but almost too quiet-sounding.
Recovery is excellent.
Rear-wheel braking: a little too gentle.
Overall, I'd say 15.5/20 for its very KAWA engine. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Ptitparigo
I'm going to have a serious break-in period, but it's a real pleasure...
It's got a hell of a mouth, a super-pleasant riding position and a super-pleasant engine noise.
It handles really well and responds to the slightest throttle :-).
What more can I say?
I love it:-) Rating : 5/5 Respond to sffflm
i'm about to sign for
an X1000SX. I rode for 3 years with an unbridled fazer 1000 that gave me 150hp. It was a good machine, but now it's out of fashion.
Are you really happy with this new machine?
With pleasure; Daniel Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
Excellent overall, with a few irritating details, such as the bubble that doesn't protect my shoulders (I'm 1.72m tall), even in top gear, the absence of a gearshift (present on Suzuk'!) and vibrations in the buttocks (saddle, shock absorber adjustment?) at certain speeds.
Last but not least, the salespeople boast (as they do for a living ;-) of its moderate appetite, but it does oscillate between 7 and 9L/100, with some acceleration from time to time...
Well, it's great all the same, with generous torque and breathtaking acceleration :)))
Happy driving! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Mandra
it's a sporty treat, and when you accelerate, it gives you a little kick in the ass, even without being unbridled...yé... Rating : 5/5 Respond to bandi222
