presentation of the KX 450 2024
Quite a few changes for the KX 450 in 2024. Kawasaki wants to keep it among the best machines in its class. This is its first complete redesign in five years. The KX 450 '24 benefits from a new frame and plastics, as well as improved engine performance thanks to the symmetrical alignment of intake and exhaust.
handling is also improved, with better front-end feel contributing to enhanced cornering performance. The new, sharply designed green plastics offer improved ergonomics thanks to a narrower cockpit, while braking has also been improved with top-of-the-range Brembo brakes and "ODI Lock-on" grips, a first for the KX family.
In terms of technology, the big KX 450 (and the KX450X variant) features Kawasaki power modes and traction control for the first time, both easily selectable via buttons on the left-hand switchgear.
The rider can quickly choose between two levels of traction control (more or less instrusive) depending on riding conditions and preferences. The rider can also choose to deactivate the system. Using the Mode (M) button on the left-hand gearshift, it is also possible to switch between two engine maps (Normal or Mild response) proposed by the ECU.
In addition, new smartphone connectivity allows riders to connect to their machine and adjust engine mapping directly from their "RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX" application, with the added bonus of displaying maintenance data.
The addition of new features and electronic aids takes these machines to the next level. The KX 450 is also available in a 50th anniversary version with a distinctive '90s look.
