launch Control mode

The KX 450 F is equipped with a "Launch Control" start-assist system, very similar to that used on factory KX models. At the touch of a button, the rider can activate a distinct engine settings map, multiplying the chances of a good start in slippery conditions.

easy engine tuning: direct injection settings (choice of 3 mappings)

The original settings of the three maps are : Standard, Hard and Soft. using the supplied DFI plugs, the rider can easily switch from one map to another to adapt settings to riding conditions.

adjustable handlebars

Two bridge mounting positions and reversible bridges on the top tee offer four handlebar adjustments: 25 mm forward, 15 mm forward, normal and 10 mm rear.

adjustable footrests

Thanks to their adjustable plate, the footrests can be lowered by 5 mm; by lowering the center of gravity and line of vision, this position enhances physical and psychological stability.

all the bite of fuel injection

The 449 cm3 liquid-cooled, 4-stroke single-cylinder engine delivers punchy power from low to high revs. The highly exploitable powerband and responsive acceleration deliver a torrent of torque that allows riders to push the throttle from low revs.

kX FI fuel injection calibration kit (optional)

The KX FI fuel injection calibration kit is identical to that used by official Kawasaki Teams in Europe and the USA. It allows experienced riders to adjust engine settings to their preferences.

front suspension

DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) treatment reduces friction. This surface treatment is also effective when exposed to lateral stresses. The hardness of this surface treatment minimizes scratches.

pilot-machine interface

Narrower by 4 mm (2 mm on each side) than 2012 and earlier models between the main beams, the ergonomic frame refines the driving position and provides better control of the machine.

petal brake discs

The KX 450 F is equipped with petal brake discs front and rear. In addition to reducing unsprung weight, the petals of the discs naturally clean the brake pads for improved braking performance.

a racing-inspired engine

The high-performance piston (inspired by those used in competition), revised intake valves and specific ECU tuning ensure exceptional low- and mid-range performance.

pneumatic Spring Fork (PSF)

The KX 450 F is equipped with this system as standard. Shock absorption is provided by pressurized air instead of springs. Reduced weight, simplified adjustments and a wider range of settings are the benefits of this fork.

uni-Trak rear suspension

The balancer system is mounted under the swingarm for more precise suspension adjustment. Dual compression adjustment offers a wide range of optional settings. The cartridge's Kashima surface treatment improves its operation.
