presentation of the 690 Enduro R 2026
It's the story of a single-cylinder that strives to give the 690 Enduro R a dry, hectic feel. KTM was forced to put it to rest for a short time, but the machine is back with enough evolutions to ensure it maintains its attack.
The eye of menace.
The 690 Enduro R gets a facelift for 2026. The designers have clearly reworked the shoulders, more subtly the headlamp surround, a little the engine cowling, discreetly the rear flanks, and a little the second half of the front mudguard. It's a breath of fresh air, and the desire to rip up curves and forest trails is as strong as ever.
The Katoche takes advantage of this momentum to get a new dashboard. A small, full-length 4.2-inch color TFT unit, borrowed from its smaller 125 and 390 sisters. Modern, techy, cute, this slab informs you of the essentials while allowing you to connect a smartphone (with the benefit of music management, calls, and turn-by-turn navigation). A USB-C port and new controls invite you to play.

Play? Everywhere!
Mattighofen's big enduro is (and always will be) there to play on any terrain. Especially with its big 692.7 cm3 single. Even meaner than before! The manufacturer has adapted it to Euro5+, reworked the oil circulation system, reworked the clutch and alternator housings, modified a number of components... and greatly increased power. The block now produces 79 horsepower! That's 5 units more than the previous version, and an output worthy of a racing engine. Confident, KTM announces a service interval extended from 10,000 km to 15,000 km. Impressive for this type of engine.
It loses a tiny amount of torque (73 Nm instead of 73.5), but this is negligible. With all this cavalry, the machine will be formidable on many terrains, and devastating off-road. All the more so as the 690 Enduro R remains a very light machine by trail standards. only 152 kg before fueling - a weight gain of 3 kg, largely offset by the increased watts. Obviously, it's still far more physical than a pure enduro like the EXC-F, but the 690 boasts a very different level of versatility.
Adapting to tough conditions
The 690 Enduro R 2026 revamps its suspension for a little more comfort. The big 48 mm WP X-Plor inverted fork and X-plor monoshock are anchored to the steel trellis frame. Wide suspension travel, 265 mm of ground clearance and the right amount of studs on the rubbers encourage you to master greenery and rock.
The electronics rely on the IMU to optimize traction control and cornering ABS, both of which can be deactivated. The same applies to the shifter, MSR engine slip control and two standard riding modes, Street and Offroad, with Rally mode available as an option. For 2026, Rally mode features the new Dynamic Slip Adjust function, which automatically balances wheel slip.

An Enduro 690 is also a motorcycle that can be adapted in a number of ways:
- Adjustable brake and clutch levers
- Adjustable footrests
- Compression- and rebound-adjustable forks
- Shock absorber adjustable for preload and compression at high and low speeds
Its 13.5-liter fuel tank is ideal for long, all-day outings; if you've got the stamina. Let's not forget that the bike is equipped with an anti-dribble clutch, Brembo brakes with a 320 mm front disc bitten by a 2-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear disc with a single piston, a rear reservoir (also acting as a sub-frame) and a passenger seat... quite relative - its footrests are optional.
Efforts on both sides
A formidable motorcycle, but also a demanding one. The seat height is more than substantial at 935 mm, the doctrine is almost permanently sporty, and the price also demands commitment. But with this Enduro 690 R in your hands, you can transform yourself into a lumberjack or a rally stage ogre.
