The KTM 890 Adventure R Rally returns in 2026 with a bold new look. A striking Red Bull Replica livery, featuring a deep blue reminiscent of a rally-raid machine, sets it apart much more clearly from the standard 890 Adventure. It also features slightly modified mirrors, enlarged hand guards, and a lower price... And that’s it. Savvy enthusiasts will thus be able to get their hands on a new batch of this adventure bike, with its familiar features.

A long ride to stretch its legs

Long-distance rally enthusiasts don’t choose heavy machines like big trail-GTs. They need a powerful, dynamic, and adventurous machine. Within the KTM lineup, there’s a bike to satisfy demanding appetites without being extreme. A machine that sits between the Adventure R and the 450 Rally Replica (customer competition): the 890 Adventure R Rally.

This version builds on the 890 Adventure R’s foundation with the “Rally” upgrades already featured on the previous generation. Among these, one of the most notable is the adoption of more advanced suspension offering even greater travel. The WP components feature 270 mm of travel and provide over 30 cm of ground clearance—not far off what a pure enduro bike like the EXC-F offers.
As in 2021 and 2024, the fork is an XPLOR PRO 7548 and the shock absorber an XPLOR PRO 6746. Top-of-the-line, fully adjustable components that account for a significant portion of the price.

Since the first 890 Adventure Rally, a number of components are new, such as a more wraparound aluminum engine guard, the addition of an anodized Supersprox-Stealth rear sprocket, a cruise control system, a 5-inch TFT screen, and a choice of new wheels. DID rims have replaced the Excel ones, while the Karoo 3 tires have been swapped out for Mitas Enduro Trail tires. Protective guards for the radiator and rear brake master cylinder have also been added.

Still present are the Akrapovic titanium muffler (saving 1 kg), special footpegs, carbon fiber tank guards, a custom seat, the shifter, and the additional “Rally” riding mode (which is optional on the other 890 Adventure models).
In fact, when it comes to electronics, the Rally has nothing to complain about. It features cornering ABS with the option to disable it, a 10-level angle-sensitive traction control system, a 6D inertial measurement unit, wheelie control, an engine slip control system, and 4 riding modes (Rain / Street / Offroad / Rally). The “Rally” mode, mentioned earlier, allows you to turn off wheelie control and adjust engine response according to the more or less aggressive Rally, Offroad, or Street settings.

For rally-raid, the 450 Replica will be more effective. But the 890 Adv Rally is powered by a more powerful twin-cylinder engine. The engine produces 105 horsepower and just over 10 mkg of torque. This gives it plenty of power on any terrain and allows for smooth, stress-free riding on regular roads without the engine screaming. And with a 20-liter fuel tank, you can cover a lot of miles.

A gateway to the open road... but not for everyone

This optimized version of the Adventure isn’t new. Katoche first introduced the concept with the 790 Adventure Rally in 2020—a limited edition for demanding riders. The formula was revisited in 2021 with the 890, again in limited production. 2024 offered another iteration of this Adventure Rally, with 700 units distributed worldwide. This model is versatile enough to inspire a whole host of challenges. This Rally is ready to take them on. It will again be available in limited quantities for 2026 (exact number not yet announced).As for the price, that’s a different story.
