The BMW motorcycles 2019
What's changing in 2019
The new Boxer 1250 engine with variable valve timing takes over the entire R range at once (R, RS, RT, GS, GS Adventure). The F 850 GS Adventure completes the clan of adventurers.
All R 1200 models and the F 800 GS Adventure disappear from the catalog.

Essentials
There have been 4 recalls for 2019 models :
- S 1000 RR HP4 Race
At high engine speeds (>= 12,500 rpm), the oil filter's screw connection may come loose, causing oil to leak from the oil filter. This can lead to oil deposits on the road, creating slippery sections and increasing the risk of accidents and injuries.
- S 1000 R
The front wheel lift control is deactivated by a software reset, carried out without the customer's knowledge, creating a risk of accident.
- K 1600 GT K 1600 GTL
Non-compliant sixth-gear sets have been fitted to gearboxes replaced during a previous workshop intervention. This can lead to excessive wear on the control intervals during prolonged driving at full load in sixth gear. In the event of a malfunction, the gears may not shift properly, or two gears may be shifted at the same time. The rear wheel could lock up and/or the gears could be damaged, increasing the risk of an accident.
- K 1600 GT K 1600 GTL
The strength of the rear suspension link may be insufficient due to a part that does not meet specifications and may deteriorate over time. This could affect the rider's handling and control, increasing the risk of an accident.
