presentation of the F4 1080 CC 2007
Let's face it, MV-Agusta obviously has major ego problems. When the €45,000 F4 1000 Tamburini was unveiled, we drooled and thought that was as far as it would go.
Then the brand blew a fuse again, and the Veltro came along with its unbearable price tag. But we let it go, thinking that MV couldn't go any further. Well, it did! here we go again, reaching the point of pure delirium. A madness, a whim, a new dimension of prestige signed by the boss of MV-Agusta himself. The new F4 1080 CC will bear his initials - a motorcycle for Claudio Castiglioni.
In terms of engines, this displacement has already made an appearance on the 1080 CR Platino. Here, MV-Agusta's racing department has dipped its magic hands between the cylinder head and the crankshaft. This reworked version of the fiery Italian distiller spits out even more watts on the CC, verging on the fascinating 200 hp mark (with the titanium exhaust to match). The bike is rated at 315 km/h, even faster than the famous Suzuki Hayabusa. What's more, this speed is electronically limited, because beyond that, it's the tire that clicks.
We've come a long way since the F4 1000 S's 998 cm3. Titanium radial valves are invited to sit alongside new pistons and connecting rods. Weight has dropped and the mill has become more compact. The F4 weighs 187 kg without fuel, or around 203 kg fully loaded. Excellent for a motorcycle built almost entirely by hand. The CCs are all hand-assembled.
Of course, Claudio Castiglioni has spared no expense. Carbon everywhere you can get it, exclusive aluminum parts, new fork, magnesium rear shock absorber (some housings are also made of magnesium), "Brembo Racing" radial braking system, all of which are beautifully crafted. In fact, almost all parts are custom-made for this diva.
As always, this special version of the F4 will be produced in a limited series. 100 examples, not one more, will be produced, for Claudio's pride and joy. The bike won't be delivered on its own; MV-Agusta is offering you a Trussardi leather jacket and a Girard-Perregaux watch. An extra touch of elegance and luxury. I don't want to end on an unpleasant note, although you can imagine it's going to be a steep one. Let's just say that a Porsche 911 costs less...
