The America crest is slowly taking up residence at MV-Agusta. Not as much as the sprawling RC decor, but each year sees a model dressed in Uncle Sam's colors. For 2019, the 800 Dragster RR is honored in the USA. As was the Brutale 800 RR before it... itself preceded by the 800 Brutale.... Which took over from the Brutale 750 of 2005... Inspired by the 1975 750 S. Time seems to be the brand's ally, as it continues to capitalize on its history.
The star-spangled banner floats over the Dragster. Particularly striking, this dress takes precedence over the roadster's aggressive curves. An obvious propensity for loving the territory across the Atlantic, with details that MV has the diligence for. Such as? The star-spangled sticker on the tank, exactly like the '75 model. Or the US color scheme on the rims, with red hubs, white rims and blue spoke tips. Of course, you can't miss the red saddle with gold stitching. But did you notice the shiny finish of the front mudguard and part of the radiator scoop? Where, incidentally, is a discreet "America Special Edition" reminder.
Don't forget to flatter the rider, with a plate on the fork crown engraved with the name and serial number.
A limited series, as is often the case at MV. 200 examples of the Dragster America will be sold, each accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
More than 40 years later, the mechanics are still a source of delight. In that time, it has doubled in power without any increase in displacement. We can expect a few curtseys in its wake, but certainly not a gesture on the price. Well, there is, but it's going up.
