FSBK: Kenny Foray (almost) dominates proceedings

He was coming off an emphatic victory at the European circuit of Pau Arnos, where he won both races to top the 2024 French Superbike Championship standings. This weekend, at the sixth and penultimate round of the championship, Kenny Foray had the opportunity to make his mark (and score decisive points!) before the season's final highlight.

To do so, it was essential not to arrive late. In qualifying, Kenny Foray (BMW Tecmas Michelin) set a new track record with a time of 59'17, giving him pole position ahead of Jérémy Guarnoni (Team Yamaha MDS Dunlop) and Mike Di Meglio (Honda Team CBO Racing France Michelin). Alan Techer (Honda Team CBO Racing France Michelin) will start from the second row, in 4th position.

French Superbike Championship: Loïc Arbel crowned challenger!

Following on from practice, on a perfect track in the northern suburbs of Paris, Kenny Foray got off to an explosive start, quickly taking the lead. Behind him, Jérémy Guarnoni and Mike Di Meglio battled for the runner-up spot. Foray maintained a steady pace, building up a 3-second gap at the halfway point, while Di Meglio finally got the better of Guarnoni to take 2nd place. Di Meglio's teammate Alan Techer stabilized in 4ᵉ position, closely followed by Mathieu Gines (Team 41 Performance Michelin) and Martin Renaudin (Team Moto&GPAddict Honda Michelin).

As a result, Foray crossed the finish line victorious, consolidating his championship lead. Di Meglio and Guarnoni took the top 3, ahead of Techer, Gines and Renaudin. Loïc Arbel (BMW Tecmas Michelin) finished 8th to win the French Challenger 2024 title in his first season. Kilian Aebi (Team LMS Suzuki Pirelli) and Ludovic Rizza (Team LMS Suzuki Pirelli) completed the class podium, finishing 9th and 10ᵉ overall respectively.

Kenny Foray, in two steps, three movements

In the second race, Foray again took the lead, but the heat was interrupted by a red flag after 5 laps, following a crash at the back of the field. On the restart, the Hondas of Alan Techer and Mike Di Meglio took the lead, relegating Foray to 4th place. However, the latter didn't let himself be outdone and began his comeback. With six laps to go, he took advantage of his rivals' mistakes to retake the lead, overtaking Gines, Techer and then Di Meglio. Foray again completed the double, demonstrating his remarkable technical mastery. Techer and Di Meglio finished 2nd and 3rd, followed by Guarnoni and Gines.

FSBK 2024 overall standings before the final race weekend :

1- Kenny FORAY 255 points ;
2- Alan TECHER 220 p. ;
3 - Mike DI MEGLIO 167 p. ;
4 - Mathieu GINES 149 p. ;
5 - Jérémy GUARNONI 124 p.

On the eve of his 9th FSBK appearance, we wondered whether Kenny Foray would live up to the expectations set by Superbike followers in the face of stiff competition. The answer was quickly given by the interested party. This weekend saw the Yvelines native strengthen his position at the top of the championship. The experienced 40-year-old now has a 35-point lead over Alan Techer. All the more reason to savour, before refocusing on the Bol d'Or and closing the FSBK season in style at Le Castelet on the last weekend of September.
