presentation of the Shotgun 650 2026

The Shotgun 650 asserts a visual power unknown to Royal-Enfield. The brand warmed things up at EICMA 2021 with its SG650 concept, and the Shotgun is its direct sequel, a bobber with a strong expression, more fearless than the Super Meteor from which it derives.

Now that R.E. has confident machines in its 650 family with the Continental GT, Interceptor and Super Meteor, it's time to offer a custom bike with character, but also one that's widely predisposed to customization. Uncle Sam's motorcycles, such as the Harley Softail Standard, Davidson Street Bob, Indian Chief Dark Horse, are the kind of medium where ideas of emotionality collide. And what if it were the same on an Indian bobber!?!! More modest mechanically, but just as eager to transform.

The Shotgun can be seasoned with a multitude of sauces! Or eat it as is! Royal-Enfield has given it enough aplomb to assert its personality as a young war veteran. Its ammunition? 47 horsepower powered by the manufacturer's biggest engine. The 648 cm3 twin-cylinder is full of charm, easy on the eyes and offers a very neo-classic alternative to the crowd of engines in the A2 zone.

With its suspension seat, as on the Triumph 1200 Bobber, the Shotgun shows hints of anti-conformism. A real desire for emancipation, like "I'm rebelling against my SM(Super Meteor) sister". Yet it can't deny its genes. Between the engine and suspension, the base is fraternally shared. So is much of the tubular steel frame, except that the Shotgun has a narrower column angle and reduced caster. Its wheelbase is also slightly shorter. This bobber should therefore ride a little more incisively than the cruiser.
The wheel sizes have also changed (100/90-18 and 150/70-17 vs. 100/90-19 and 150/80-16).

Bybre braking is identical, with a brake disc and twin-piston caliper per wheel. The front is fitted with a 320 mm disc and the rear with a 300 mm disc. The instrument cluster is circular, with a needle running around 2/3 of the perimeter to indicate speed, while a central digital window displays essential data. The remote display can be used to operate the "Tripper" navigation system, via Bluetooth, smartphone and app.

Royal-Enfield 650 Shotgun
one of the Shotgun's outstanding features is its ability to be transformed into a two-seater cruiser in a matter of minutes. All you have to do is bolt a subframe behind the saddle, and then put a passenger seat on it... or use it as a pack carrier (it's designed for that).

Don't call it Shogun, the Japanese wouldn't like it. And that title didn't really fit the premise of this custom. The name refers more to Royal-Enfield's former gunsmithing activities. It's true that this machine seems to want to provoke end-to-end fighting. With a price tag close to that of the Super Meteor, the Shotgun brings style face to face with the A2.
