presentation of the GSX-8R 800 Edition Anniversaire 2026
The GSX-8R embodies Suzuki’s “new wave” of small sport bikes. Like the 650 Ninja, 660 Daytona, and 675 SR-R (among others), the focus is no longer on the adrenaline rush of riding with a knife between your teeth, but on the pleasure of a more forgiving machine—not too sharp, and not too aggressive either.
More of a Sport-GT than a pure sport bike, really. Yet, Suzuki is looking to inject a bit of spice, a brief burst, a touch of extra tension into the mix with this 800 GSX-8R Anniversary Edition.
Busa Pack
Whose anniversary? That of its big sister. This 8R pays homage to the GSX1300R’s 25th-anniversary special edition (in 2023). It features the same orange-red color scheme, accented with a few black touches and a range of accessories.
In addition to its decal kit, the GSX-8R “Hayabusa Spirit” comes with:
- A matching seat cover
- A smoked windscreen
- Machined handlebar ends
- A USB port
- A matching protective cover
Originally priced at €10,798 (as of late January), Suzuki has revised the price of this special edition to €9,798. Given the list price of the accessories, it’s as if the brand is throwing in the cover and installation costs for free. This edition will be available only in France.

These features should give the GSX-8R’s career a bit of a boost. A motorcycle equipped with a very pleasant twin-cylinder engine, far removed from the characteristics of the old 600 GSX-Rs but highlighted by a “sense of performance.” Under the seat, the rider has access to Showa suspension components, Nissin brakes, 83 horsepower, an Up&Down shifter, an anti-dribble clutch, 3 riding modes, traction control, ABS, a 5-inch color TFT screen, and in-house electronic aids.
