presentation of the SVS 650 2001
the SVS is a true little sports car for the young at heart, a delight for its riders and for the back roads. Its affordable price is only part of the reason for its success. The SV is available in 2 versions: N for lovers of the round headlight, S for riders. In addition to its "little TLS" look, there's the slim, beautifully designed silhouette, the tubular trellis frame and, above all, the engine. This suzuki twin is a real treat. Its small character doesn't prevent it from being supple, and particularly more expressive than the 4-cylinder roadsters in its class. Its gruff 70s may not seem quite up to the 95s of a Fazer or Hornet. Nonsense! The bike pulls much more efficiently than its rivals at mid-range, and then the twin sets off furiously to attack the red zone. You don't come across many twins of this displacement with such a long stroke. A real enchantment, perfectly supported by the chassis. The machine is a real bike. One look at it and it plunges like a rocket. Sensations, liveliness and a playful temperament... What a cocktail! Particularly light, which goes some way to explaining its agility, the bike brakes very well - with the exception of a fork that's a little soft on hydraulics, suspension that's a little dry and a lack of bite on the discs. The equipment is fairly basic, although the dashboard is rather classy, with its counters set into a block of imitation carbon. The passenger's seat is pretty high up, not necessarily the best you can do, but the padding is convincing. In fact, we're quibbling, because the SVS is a super machine, almost a sport-training machine, offering near-fantastic riding pleasure.

And when you switch to full throttle, the engine breathes
at 6500 rpm, the engine revs up with the power of a 4-cylinder at 10000 rpm
despite its small displacement and 72 hp, I'm able to keep up with a 95 hp aprilia shiver on a standing start! I'm even faster than it, 0 to 100 in less than 4 seconds, even after 20 years!
THE ONLY OTHER PROBLEM IS THAT THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR HEATS UP A LOT AND, BECAUSE IT'S PLACED IN THE REAR BODY, IT CAN CRAM. It happened to me once in the summer when I was driving under 38 degrees and accelerating a bit hard :') But I changed it for a new one and now there's no problem! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Alix37
It gives me so much confidence that 6 months after my driving test, I put my knee to the wheel!
Smooth, easy to handle, sporty look..
Perfect for beginners
It's a real curve eater! I fitted an Akra half-high line, a seat cover and a smoked bubble, giving it a real youthful look
This bike is top notch! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Clement
The only 2 negative points I have to make: the front fork is really soft from the outset, and beginners beware: engine braking is powerful on this machine! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Cougar
bravo for this bike, which was made to give us pleasure and not just to take our money, as is often the case Rating : 3/5 Respond to phil03
Mine overheated yesterday and set fire to my svs 650. Rating : 3/5 Respond to Vincezo
great roadholding, comfort is really good, acceleration quite substantial for a young driver like me ^^.
I don't regret it at all, in fact I'm delighted with it. :) Rating : 5/5 Respond to Bob
Recommended................
The engine is good up to 100000 kilo if well maintained, and not beaten............ya danger that it clogs if you go to the limit allowed on the roads...........
Thank you Rating : 5/5 Respond to zazou
It's my first bike and I'm very happy with it. Equipped with a double Ixil output (magnificent sound, I love it). Recent problem with the tension regulator and timing chain tensioner. Otherwise RAS, reliable bike. Just HAPPY Rating : 4/5 Respond to Vincent
Rating : 5/5 Respond to le vieux
it's very responsive at low revs, it's nervous (some would say too nervous), it's lively because there's a lot more vibration on acceleration compared to other 600 4-cylinders, but it's all these points that make it so charming!
there's never a dull moment on the bike, whether in curves or on the straights!
however, if you're new to motorcycles, you'll need some time to master it, as it can take you by surprise, especially when exiting wet roundabouts or downshifting!
i'd recommend it to you if you're looking for a motorcycle with good sensations at a lower cost! Rating : 4/5 Respond to flo18
It's the only bike I've kept for more than 2 years
It's my 18th motorcycle (GSXR, VFR, ZXR, trails, etc...) and I have to admit that I'm delighted with it in every way. First, the price (purchase, maintenance, insurance) and then the fun (riding, looks). I've fitted various accessories (wheel arch, rear mudguard, integrated rear light/indicator lights, front LED indicators, seat cover, engine cover, Scorpion silencer, front mudguard extender)
Admittedly, the suspension is a bit "cheap". It gets a little better with a soft setting, but it can (rarely) bang at the front when braking hard downhill. Protection is better than on the 2002 model, without being sufficient beyond 180
But I'm not sure it's ideal for beginners..... That's because of the suspension and the lack of a directing amorto, because as you become more confident with it, you'll be able to do some steering that may surprise beginners. The tires need to be changed urgently, as the Dunlops have no grip in the rain
In short, I can't think of any other motorcycle on the market offering such a good value for money and fun
A word of advice: replace the fork springs with Ohlins (130 Euros), and you'll have another incredible bike
All that's missing is a K&N filter and avia hoses..

Not to mention the bandits, who catch a cold very quickly...
Nickel for starters, prefer a model S that's not overpriced. Rating : 5/5 Respond to coyote29
I recommend it to everyone! Rating : 5/5 Respond to pipo

For city riding, it's superb, especially as I have fairly long arms, the riding position doesn't bother me at all
For long trips, it may lack a little protection, but then again, it's not a road bike either, and it gets through every kilometre without a hitch
In short, nowadays, when speeding is to be avoided, the SVS is a good compromise between pleasure and sensation, while staying within the law (well, if you put your mind to it) lol Rating : 5/5 Respond to Thorus
I recommend it for beginners as well as for the rest of you Rating : 5/5 Respond to charlyride
This bike combines 3 major assets: feel, looks and low cost. After an svs, I bought a pre-2003 svs because I thought it was much nicer
Bonne route à vous

well, a kick in the pants at low revs, very good length, very good handling and stability in curves (which the B6 doesn't have) and versatile (city and road)
I don't regret my purchase at all
i'd still advise a novice to get a 4-legged before a BI, as it's easier to get started! Rating : 5/5 Respond to corpse
