Motorcycle specifications SuzukiDL 250 V-STROM 2020 A little piece of adventure

On-Off Road

Suzuki's trail bikes, whether GT or urban, are known as V-Strom. Under this name live two machines with excellent performance, striking design and benchmark engines. The 650 plays to the rhythm of the SV's twin, the 1000 pulses to the rumble of the TL's block. Big memories for many.
Two bikes? Sorry, three now. To surprise a lively sector, that of the 250/300. Small, singular, massive, the 250 V-Strom surprises. After sports bikes and roadsters, the small-displacement category, which Asian markets love so much, is now home to road-going trail bikes. But what is this mini V-Smurf thinking?

there's nothing pejorative about this sobriquet, and it suits the smallest of Hamamatsu's trails quite well. Small in size but cunning in action.
In fact, there are a few hallmarks: the incisive beak, the cyclops-shaped headlamp and the all-track styling. On form...... It's hard to be objective with this big block of light, protruding like a wart. Design lines don't run on the 250 V-Strom; they seem to stop, to hesitate. The silhouette is far less airy than that of its siblings. On the other hand, it gives an impression of sturdiness, as if the machine could do the work in Australian mines. Fortunately, the design is more attractive and qualitative than that of the 125 DF-E, a former contender for the job.

Suzuki DL 250 V-STROM 2020Synergie, the V-Strom borrows many elements from the GSX-R 250. Starting with the engine. Derived from theInazuma 250, this twin-cylinder engine boasts 1 ACT, 4 valves, fuel injection and liquid cooling. With 25 horsepower, the GSX-R 250 can handle any task in town, as well as a few leisurely rides. With a loaded duo, you can't expect to get very far. Especially as, at 188 kilos ready to roll, the machine is heavy - quite heavy for a two-and-a-half... Larger V-Strom models are more appropriate.
One of the strong points of this machine is its range. With its small appetite and 17-liter fuel tank, Suzuki claims no less than 500 km on a full tank. These figures need to be put into perspective with real-world driving. But even then, the gauge shouldn't go down too quickly.

it will make its presence felt on the dashboard, along with the bar graph, gear engaged, speed, trips, clock, etc... The instrumentation is familiar from the GSX-S 125, GSX-R 125 and 250. Inspired by the 1000 GSX-R.
For everyday use, the mini V-Strom is keen to demonstrate its practicality. To this end, a bubble completes the rather massive front end for protection. An 8.5-kilo load capacity is standard, a 12V socket is fitted to the left of the dashboard, and Suz has installed attachments for hanging suitcases. A slight refinement that doesn't even come as standard on the 650 and 1000 V-Strom.

there's no fuss about the chassis, which is easily satisfied with a steel frame, conventional fork, monoshock and 2 petal brake discs combined with ABS. We can already imagine the desire to splash mud in front of the forest with a few machines of the same ilk. What do the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and Benelli 251 TRK think?

French sinclair Model 2019
After 26 bikes, and now living in the mountains, I chose this bike for its weight, low fuel consumption and low maintenance costs. I'm delighted! For some, these shortcomings are great qualities. I've been riding for 46 years and I'm having fun like a kid again. Which was no longer the case with my 1200 rt. In short, I recommend it. Rating : 5/5
French pmstarsky Model 2019
Aesthetically very successful, I'm 1.68m tall and it's the only trail bike where I can touch it with both feet flat, supple seat and comfortable suspension, 150mm travel and metal hoof allow for some off-road excursions, 17.3L for 3.2l/100 on average (measured on all types of roads and not while dragging) give 524km of autonomy! A record... perfect position for me, quite good protection (I added a windshield cover), I have very practical and waterproof hard cases, good braking, after fitting a 45-tooth sprocket (original 47) cruising speed 90km/h at 6500rpm, 120km/h at 8500rpm (red zone at 10500rpm), a little clarification: I'm 63 years old, this is my 49th bike in 49 years of riding, I've had everything from the 125 to the 1600.i chose this bike after a big crash and 2 years off the road... Sincerely Rating : 4/5
French Nico44 Model 2018
Tried the bike at the dealership this morning. Nice weather in the area, but quite windy (not stormy either!). The Vstorm 250 suffers from the wind. Its small forks, height and light weight are a real handicap, and the handling suffers. I didn't feel safe in these weather conditions... It's a pity, because I find it aesthetically pleasing, and its little playful engine is pretty cool. Rating : 2/5
This is just my opinion, but not only are they getting heavier and heavier, they're also getting uglier and uglier!

How hard can it be to make a lightweight trail bike in this century?

This bike has a ridiculous amount of travel, and the ground clearance is necessarily low. 17-inch wheel... A scooter in disguise?!

A Trail is 150 kg max, with plenty of travel and range, and if possible with a look that doesn't remotely resemble an enduro, let alone a GT!
Rating : 1/5
