Motorcycle specifications SuzukiM 1500 INTRUDER 2009 The look of the beast

just because you're wiser than your big brother doesn't mean you can't have the same look. That's probably what the M 1500 R Intruder thought. Visually, it's almost impossible to tell it from the 1800. Futuristic silhouette, inverted fork, big liquid twin, equivalent weight. You really have to get up close and take a look at the spec sheet to rule out any similarities... and understand how Suzuki has made this big cruiser much more affordable. To achieve a price tag that's 3,000 euros lower, we started by modifying the braking system: no more 4-piston radial calipers or coupled brakes, just classic 2-piston calipers. The radiator scoops are gone. But in terms of looks, from the superb front rim to the triangular LED light at the rear, this M 1500 is a real eye-catcher every time you take a break on a terrace. The rear gumshoe has lost 40 mm in width (it's a 200 on the 1500), and that's no bad thing. What you lose in looks, you gain in manoeuvrability. Of course, taking a beast weighing over 300 kg with a wagon wheelbase in the virolo has none of the agility of a supermot; but it's easier than with the big 1800 Intruder.
what's left for the 1800 if its brother takes it all? Muscle! There's more than just a 321 cm3 difference between the twin-cylinders. It's also a difference of 45 horsepower. If it looks like a power-cruiser, the 1500 can't compete with this segment. Torque is also less generous, but it still boasts over 12 mkg at a much lower revs than the 1800. Enough to deliver great acceleration and copious acceleration.
The driver sits comfortably on this 1500, with arms hugging the wind as passionately as a parachute. An anti-high-speed bike that'll clamor you along at cruising speeds, i.e. 100-110 km/h, the tempo of choice for customs. That leaves spectators plenty of time to appreciate the vision of this machine, which is quite atypical in its segment.

it really feels like it's got more displacement.
bonus: very easy to handle, even in town, thanks to its suppleness and undoubtedly different wheelbase
only drawback: gearbox creaking and other klongs, which are attenuated by the rpm at which you shift gears Rating : 5/5 Respond to beddoe11
