presentation of the Tiger 800 XCA 2019
Was the forest corner long enough? The Tiger 800 XC was clearly just itching to get there and back. A clear penchant for all kinds of outings, but the encouraging option of off-road tires speaks volumes about its obvious will.
Just below it, the XCx already offers quite a lot for experimenting in regions near and far. But... to get to those far-off lands, some will want an extra dose of comfort. Cruise control, heated grips, adjustable WP suspension, traction control... We won't go through the whole list again. Nor do we need to dwell on the 200 modifications Triumph claims for its 800 Tiger. Let's pay closer attention to the extra equipment the XCA claims for more intense use.
A fairly recent touch of refinement in the motorcycling microsome: backlit controls. A nice little extra when it's dark out, they make it easier to operate the on-board controls, including the multi-axis joystick for the 5" TFT screen. Heated saddles make for a comfortable ride in winter.
A surplus of technology is added with LED daytime running lights for a stronger lighting identity. There are six riding modes: Off-Road Pro, Road, Rain, Off-Road, Sport and Rider - the latter programmable.
The enrichment ends with a pair of LED fog lights, a center stand and an aluminum radiator guard.
More comfortable, boasting a plethora of equipment, more accomplished with increased efficiency on and off-road, the Triumph Tiger 800 XCA represents the pinnacle of the British manufacturer's mid-size trail bikes. A privileged position that comes at a high price.
