presentation of the 2500 Rocket III GT 2021

Perhaps, like me, you were mistaken in interpreting the GT designation of the Rocket III presented here. Were we to discover the offspring of the Rocket III Touring? Would Hinckley's bull be equipped with all the necessities for long stages or stays? No. No windscreen, no suitcases, no top-case, no fridge. So what? "Simply" more relaxed riding. More equipment, a few ergonomic differences, and little extras for the passenger.

At first glance, the GT appears to be primarily equipped for two-up riding. But Triumph goes further than that. It's all about the detail, the finish, the attention to detail. On both the R and the GT, the wheels are huge (150 wide at the front and 240 at the rear); on the GT, however, the rim spokes are machined. As soon as you climb aboard, you'll notice THE difference between this Rocket III GT and its sibling. On its sister model, the driving position could be likened to that of a roadster. Here, we're in a different world. The footrests are positioned much further forward, almost in contact with the oil cooler. The handlebars go in the opposite direction. The handlebars are taller, with arms that move the grips back to the middle of the fuel tank. Add to this a saddle that's 23 mm lower (750 mm), and you get a saddle/handlebar/footrest triangle that looks like an armchair.

Triumph 2500 Rocket III GT calibrated for cruising. With an ounce of adaptation. The passenger backrest is height-adjustable, while the foot controls offer a choice of three positions: standard, +25 mm forward, or -25 mm back. The GT rounds out its good graces with Touring-style seating, a set of heated grips as standard, and a small windscreen. All this comes at a price on the scales. It weighs 3 kilos more than the R. But hey, when you're 294 kg dry, who cares if it's 6 pounds more or less? It would be better to remember that this generation of Rocket III has gained no less than 40 kilos over its predecessor.

Especially since there's enough power in the engine to tow a stranded ox. A huge three-cylinder, chock-full of torque. It pumps out up to 22.4 mkg, far more than any Harley or Indian big block. Power output is less impressive than the cubic capacity would suggest, but still stands at 167 hp at 6,000 rpm. The mechanical, technical and electronic attributes between the Rocket GT and R are identical. The delirious engine, the diabolical, striking dual-lens look, the phantasmagorical front end with 47 mm inverted forks, a tire as wide as both hands and Brembo M50 Stylema brake calipers found on the Panigale V4, the wacky swingarm and the whole panoply of assistances.

Triumph 2500 Rocket III GT 2021 The Triumph features a second-generation TFT instrument panel with two displays and enhanced functions, along with the ability to enter one's name in the start-up theme. An inertial unit is fitted, enabling active ABS when cornering and more effective traction control. There's also a hill-start assist, four Driving Modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Rider), full LED lighting, cruise control, keyless start and lock, USB socket and...

... a few surprises when the optional Bluetooth connectivity module is added. Triumph has taken care to tempt the techno enthusiast with an accessories section featuring a GoPro control system. It also offers smartphone pairing and simplified GPS navigation. A shifter is also on the shelves, as is tire pressure control. Dig a little deeper and you'll find around fifty products in stock.

With the exception of extravagant craftsmen who steal engines from planes or cars, it's impossible to find another cocktail of power, torque, cruising and majesty in series production. Well, almost. The other possibility is called Rocket III TFC, the high-end expression of this cruiser.

Great bike, I'm 64 years old, one word: enjoy! For the insurance in all risks + assistance with 50 % of bonus 432€/year at AMV here is good ride. Rating : 5/5

French jobar85 Model 2024
hello, I've had a 2021 rocket 3 2500 gt triple black for 2 months (with just over 8,000 kms, recently serviced), (I also have a 1400 guzzi calif and a speed triple 955) which obviously changes in terms of torque, horsepower etc ... very easy to handle despite the weight of the beast. very pleasant engine, but I find that it lacks a little flexibility at low revs and, I don't know if it's a special case, but it "backfires" a little when you cut the throttle, a little unpleasant in the long run. does anyone have any information on this last point, is it normal? thank you and enjoy your ride! French JUGGERNAUT Model 2024
I dream about it, but at what price in terms of motorcycle insurance, maintenance, parts and labor...? I'm a septuagenarian and rather than speed, I'd like a TRIUMPH ROCKET 3 R for cool riding in my old age. With such a machine, you don't have to be young, good-looking and show-offy, because it's the bike that other people notice. The rider is accessory! Problem is, I prefer it black or red, but it's the "look" that makes me love it! I'm waiting for an answer on the financial aspect of insurance, maintenance, parts and labor. Thank you and long live the TRIUMPH ROCKET 3. A marvel...! Rating : 5/5

Hello JUGGERNAUT, It's hard to give you an answer about the cost of insurance, as it depends on many factors (driver profile, claims history, bonuses, place of residence, usage, etc.). To give you an idea, though, I have a 2021 Rocket 3 GT fully insured with Assurance Mutuelle des Motards (AMDM), I'm 37 years old with a 50% bonus, I live in the countryside in a remote hamlet, use for riding + commuting, and it costs me 530€/year, which I find very, very reasonable. As for maintenance, idem, it depends on whether you have it done at a Triumph dealership or an independent garage. Triumph publishes a list of its periodic maintenance rates (https://media.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk/image/upload/f_auto/q_auto/sitecoremedialibrary/media-library/files/france/dc_packs_2023_v2.pdf), these are parts and MO packages, and give an indicative idea (possible variations depending on the region). For the Rocket 3 (R as in GT), here are the indications: - 800km / 1 month (first oil change): 305€ - 16,000km: 595€ - 32,000km: 1145€ (includes valve clearance check) - 48,000km: 875€ - Annual service (if you do less than 16,000km/year): 315€ If this meets your expectations, I think you'll be delighted with this choice, for cruising on torque and in style! Having had a rocket for 12 years, I've just acquired a new Rocket gt, handling-wise, nothing to do with the old one, much more maneuverable, maybe due to the 50kg less, what a joy to ride with Rating : 5/5
Rocket 3 acceleration: 2.89s
I have no confirmation, but it seems to be close to 3.3s for the Harley Davidson
In both cases, it's so fast that it's quite difficult for the rider to perceive the difference.

Which is the fastest from 0 to 100 km/h The most powerful. The Rocket III or the HD V ROD Muscle??? Thanks Rating : 5/5
French ORCA33 Model 2020
with 220/nm of torque, this is the kind of bike that should tackle mountain roads in a friendly way, even when loaded, which might be a sacrilege, but I find that coupled to a side (if it was designed for that) even a two-seater, it should rip like hell, it's a radical change from the hysterical Japanese mills spinning at 11,000 rpm. On these new models, the mill has been superbly highlighted, and with great homogeneity with the rest of the machine, it must be perfect for cruising under the gentle purr of the tricylinder. French Rocketboy Model 2020
As the owner of a Rocket3 that I love to ride and wouldn't change for anything in the world. 3 things bother me about the GT 2020 1 single rear arm, separate rear mudguard, passenger seat, too modern a bike for a roadster. But I'd like to try it out when it hits dealerships Rating : 3/5
French Caposud Model 2020
Superb bike... With foot plates and a real windscreen, you could enjoy a good long cruising without getting tired. Rating : 5/5
French Claude Model 2020
Use the same passenger seat on the roadster as on the touring car Rating : 4/5
