presentation of the R3 300 70ème anniversaire 2026
The strike force of the R series has its bridgehead in the 300/400 class. It's called R3, and is intended to resemble the M1(but more closely resembles a big R125), and is the introductory bridge between the 125 and the R7.
Speaking of R7s, let's talk about the very first one. The 4-cylinder with 750 cm3 in the belly, born at the end of the 90s and a formidable player in the World Superbike Championship. Why this one? Because its emblematic design has stood the test of time, adorning Yamaha's 70th anniversary and the motorcycles that go with it. Including this R3 70th Anniverary.
The little sticker on the tank is a reminder of this celebration, then the red and white paint job and the speedblocks show it to everyone, everywhere. A few chromosomes from theYZF-R7 OW-02 have skipped almost 30 years to create the R3's skin.

All the more charm and curiosity. In addition to its looks, the R3 aims to introduce riders to the sport, with its pronounced but not too pronounced riding position, upside-down forks and 42-hp engine. Surprising and rewarding power for a 321 cm3, which has to contend with the much more torquey 400 and 450 models.
Note that the Yam''s little twin-cylinder is equipped with an anti-dribble clutch, that the bike is Bluetooth-enabled and offers smartphone connectivity, that it weighs in at a respectable 169 kg when fully loaded, and that it needs to convince A2 license holders that the doors to sport can be opened with it.
M.B. - Photos constucteur
There are five R models for the 70th anniversary: this R3, the R125, the 700 R7, the 900 R9 and, outside Europe, the R1.
