Motorcycle specifications YamahaXVS 950 Tour Classic 2012 A Boulevardier's approach

Cruiser

since the demise of the Royal Star Venture, medium- and long-haul touring enthusiasts have had little choice in the Yamaha range. Either succumb to the siren calls of the GT models, led by the FJR 1300, or take a look at the equipment on offer to enhance your Midnight Star. Thus was born the 950 Tour Classic. A way to travel light on the youngest bike in the custom range. This boulevardier, as we say in Quebec, has the aplomb of a cruiser, the charm of a bagger and the wink of America.

with just three components, the 950 XVS extends its range considerably. A large windshield, a pair of lockable suitcases and a sissy bar, it's a life-changer. No more hesitating at the slightest drizzle or the whims of Madame. Thus equipped, the 950 Tour Classic gives you protection, storage and extra comfort.
Basically identical to the 950 Midnight Star, Yamaha's "little" Tourer shakes to the rhythm of its 942 cm3 air-cooled twin. It's a sufficiently powerful engine, with plenty of character. Fans of big, manly thrusts will be looking for bigger bikes, both in terms of displacement and price.

French NENEL Model 2013
Very pleasant bike for cruising, good looks in this finish (tour classic), easy to handle, good range (300kms), no major faults apart from the ground clearance, which means you have to be very careful when attacking and choose your trajectories carefully at high speed. I give it 4 stars out of five, because it's one of the few motorcycles that's still possible for an old man like me, with a seat height that makes weight non-existent, riding upright so no braking on the wrists (osteoarthritis), no seat that lifts up on the back (cramps when riding). Rating : 4/5

i own an xvs 950 i love her she's so beautiful but i have to be careful hangs my turntables quite often do you have the same problem thank you discrete hanging but still Rating : 5/5
French craizyfrog Model 2013
Very nice bike with a great look ,big saddlebags but can't take a helmet ,engine has torque but hates revs ,the gearbox is supple except for the first gear which slams hard ,steering is supple provided you have the steering column bearings greased every 20.000 as recommended by Yamaha, or put in a grease nipple like I did. The original bearings weren't top-notch, and I had to have them replaced after 19,900 kms Rating : 4/5
French RAPALA 17 Model 2014
after a virago 750, I'm now the proud owner of an XVS 950 tour classic 2014: I'm very happy with it, it's very comfortable, accelerates when it needs to, and a 130 on the high way doesn't scare it...the saddlebags are good, the windscreen is good, the backrest is good, the sissi bar pannier lock system is good, and the windscreen...yes, the ground clearance is very low, which means you can ride the beast without hip problems _ at my age, arthritis is starting......and the red look is a real chick magnet ...when it comes to riding, like a bike, its weight keeps it stable and it doesn't veer off the road in strong winds: in my experience on the Pont d'Oléron with gusts of wind, I've added a crankcase guard and footrests, which are very useful for cruising in peace ...next purchase: saddlebag protectors, which are exposed to shocks ...one downside: a little more noise from the exhaust pipe wouldn't have gone amiss ... Rating : 4/5
