presentation of the MT-10 Tourer Edition 2017

Fancy a big, fat roadster? Yamaha's got that in mind, too, and has set out to make its virile MT-10 more travel-friendly. After all, the MT-07 and MT-09 have a Tracer variant, a clever crossover that greatly enhances the versatility of these market-leading roadsters. No such cocktail here: this is not the 1000 Tracer (we're slowly getting there...) but the MT-10 Tourer Edition. Big watts and all the fittings you need for long rides.

a streamlined windshield, stylish hand guards and small panniers do little to weigh down the MT-10's muscular, responsive lines. It looks like a wrestler who's packed her handbag for a weekend outing. By opening the accessory ball, Yamaha is setting a wider course for its hyper-naked big bike. One of the highlights is the large-section bubble, which takes the pressure off your chest and neck. With its deflated R1 engine that propels you to forbidden speeds, the MT-10 knows how to rip the heads off impetuous riders; the Tourer Edition soothes the pressure on the rider.
Comfort is invited too, with a thicker, more comfortable seat of the same name. The noggins are also given a few extras. The handguards are a real eye-catcher in terms of design. But in terms of effectiveness, they're in the same vein as those on the 900 Tracer. And if you need to stow a few belongings, a pair of soft ABS cases can carry bread, sausages, toothbrushes and toiletries, but don't expect to fit a helmet inside. Last but not least, a GPS holder invites you to fit this kind of co-pilot. And that's just it...

so, are we ready to go? Sure, but you can't take a map, and you don't know where you're going. That's why Yamaha is offering a bonus with this MT-10 Tourer Edition: the manufacturer has teamed up with TomTom to offer buyers of this bike a Rider 410 at half price. That's 199 euros on the counter for 152 countries on an 11 cm screen.

with this motorcycle, Yam is not offering the descendant of the FZ1 Fazer or a road model, but a fireball with a few Sunday features. A holiday with a roadster closely derived from the ebullient R1, with 160 horsepower in the belly, a chassis honed to perfection and the electronics to match: traction control, shifter, cruise control, 3 injection maps, ABS. Of course, the price goes up. Within reason, though, as this package represents a saving of around 20% compared with accessories purchased separately.

It gives it a very nice look
Once the suitcases and top case were removed, she regained her demonic look
