presentation of the TUONO 1000 R FACTORY 2010
fully equipped with Öhlins, a twin-cylinder bursting with watts, radial brake calipers and a fine pair of forged aluminum rims, this is the ultimate superbike-derived roadster.forged aluminum wheels, the ultimate superbike-derived roadster... You think this is the spec sheet for a Ducati S4Rs??? No, we're talking about a roadster just as spicy, just as Italian and just as nasty: the Tuono R Factory Edition. Same principle, same recipe, same crazy cocktail. Take a sporty, fire-breathing machine like the RSV-R Factory. Remove the fairing, keep the essentials, such as the aluminum chassis and 60° magnesium twin, and top it all off with carbon. Note that only 300 examples of this teeth-breaking flat will leave the Noale factory.
from standard to Factory, the Tuono replaces its Showa and Sachs suspension components with Öhlins. The boiler gains 6 hp (139 announced) and 0.5 mkg. A short trip to the "engine optimization" department will have given it larger exhaust valves (+ 2 mm in diameter) and a new injection map. Then Aprilia decided to take some of the weight off: forged aluminum OZ rims and carbon at every level: engine cowling, side panels, mudguards, spoiler and even the brake fluid reservoir protection are all made of this material. As a result, the Factory drops to 181 kg dry weight.
the manufacturer has also taken the opportunity to revise the graphics, maintaining the white and red tones but making them less "shocking" than on the Tuono. With Öhlins suspension and a frame derived from the RSV-R Factory, the color gold is more than present on this model, and contrasts radically with the appearance of this "factory" Tuono. It's true that Aprilia's ambition was not to present us with a pretty Barbie doll, but with a roadster as efficient and captivating as its sporty RSV-Rs. With such equipment, this spirited machine can take on the road and the competition without batting an eyelid.
