presentation of the RSV4 1000 FACTORY APRC SE 2011

the RSV4 has become more than a fantasy; it's also a machine that now proudly displays its 2010 World Superbike Championship crown. In the hands of Max Biaggi, it has taken the competition to the highest level. For 2011, the Noale-based manufacturer is releasing the RSV4 Factory in a special series called APRC. It's equipped with a pack of electronic assistances, generated, tested and derived from the circuit, and benefiting from all the know-how of Aprilia racing.

the design is the same as the Factory we've known since 2009. Only the Sabot has changed, painted in the colors of Italy and inlaid with some logos of vital importance to Aprilia in 2010: the sponsor Alitalia and the SBK10 symbol. The whole bike is still the jewel we know it to be: All-Ohlins suspension, Brembo Monobloc radial calipers, forged aluminum rims, a superb 180 hp V4 (power is not increased, but the lubrication system has been revised) with a repositionedglage of its position in the chassis, multiple injection mappings, and here, "Aprilia Ride Control Performance" racing stands to make it a super-sharpened weapon for road and track. These include :

-aTC: traction control, adjustable to 8 positions, manages torque and optimizes traction. The RSV4's system is so advanced that it can be taught to act according to the tire used. The bike will react differently depending on the rubber you put on its shoes.
-aWC: anti-wheeling. Also adjustable, it allows you to make the most of the available acceleration without wasting energy on antics.
-aLC: start-up assistance for rocket-like take-offs. You put the throttle wide open, and when you're at the top, all you have to do is release the clutch and the bike will manage the optimum acceleration all by itself. Here too, there are 3 possible settings.
-aQS: The Aprilia shifter, which allows you to shift gears with a flick of the boot, without releasing the right-hand grip or intervening on the clutch.

the factory is taking advantage of this special edition RSV4 to rework the exhaust and adopt a much slimmer, less ugly element. The rear tire is now a consistent 200 / 55, the gear ratios have been optimized, and to make it clear that this machine is the queen of Superbikes, a large 1 complete with the words Superbike World Champion is affixed to the airbox, right in front of the rider's face.

not very constructive..
the pot is a matter of taste, but the only reproach I can make to date (500km) is that at €22,000 they could have fitted an adjustable clutch lever... and black levers would have gone better with the black of the whole.
