presentation of the 1000 RSV4 RF 2017
How would you like to ride one of the most efficient sports bikes in Italian history? Apart from the exclusive and very expensive R-FW versions in the concession department, you won't find a more sublime Aprilia machine than this RSV4 RF.
Based on the RSV4-RR with the added bonus of superior peripherals, the RF benefits from the same batch of improvements in 2017. Fans of electronics and tuning will be delighted, as the APRC platform evolves in every respect.
- New ATC: traction control, adjustable over 8 positions, refined and more efficient.
- New AWC: in-house anti-wheeling, adjustable on 3 levels, now much more precise thanks to the IMU.
- New ALC: Aprilia Launch Control, the stop-start assistant. Adjustable on 3 levels and even more effective.
- New AQS: the shifter, named Aprilia Quick Shift, which now allows both upshifting and downshifting without touching the clutch.
- New APL: Aprilia Pit Limiter, a system that allows you to select and limit the maximum speed allowed in the pit lane; or incidentally, to comply with the speed limits posted on the road.
- New ACC: cruise control. The new electronic management system allows you to maintain a set speed without having to use the throttle.
- The braking package is completed by Cornering ABS technology. It works in conjunction with rear wheel lift mitigation (RLM) to guarantee stability and efficiency during deceleration. Adjustable to 3 levels and disconnectable.
To match this update, the three injection maps have been re-parameterized. Each offers the same level of engine power - 201 hp - but it's the way this potato is released that changes.
big changes on the cockpit side. The RSV4s gain an all-new TFT instrument panel. A beautiful, full-color screen with as much information as a tablet could display. Two types of screen are available: road or track.
Staying on the digital side, we present the V4-MP platform. Installed as standard on the RSV4-RF (optional on the RR), this interface allows you to connect the bike to your smartphone and intervene directly in the settings. A host of tracks are recorded, allowing the rider to fine-tune his electronic management turn by turn. Should a track not be in the box, it is always possible to save it. Additional information is provided at the bottom of the page.

Aprilia is renowned for its commitment to rapidly transferring technology developed in Superbike to its production bikes. The aforementioned improvements demonstrate this once again, but do not overshadow the heart, the essence, the spirit of the RSV4: its engine. A very powerful 65° V-twin, surpassing most engines in its class. A monster, a performance booster with an exhilarating roar. Now adapted to Euro4, it gains a new ECU enabling it to take on an extra 300 rpm. Aprilia, believing its V4 to be more than full at all revs, has removed the variable-timing intake ducts altogether. Gain: 500 grs. The new ride-by-wire eliminates a series of components located between the throttle and butterflies. Another 590 grams saved. Mechanically, new rings and valve-return springs, plus lighter pistons, are found in the boiler. All this maintains the RSV4's wattage level despite Euro4, i.e. 201 hp at 13,000 rpm and 11.7 mkg at 10,500 rpm, and should bring even more efficient revs.
the RF is distinguished from the RR by its more aggressive "Superpole" styling and a host of Öhlins peripherals. The inverted fork is a NIX type, and the shock absorber a TTX. A Swedish steering damper calms the nervousness of the front axle. Braking-wise, RR and RF are equipped with new, larger 330 mm brake discs (+10 mm) and colossal Brembo M50 calipers. Arm crushing guaranteed. To complete the package and enhance liveliness, the RF is fitted with Marchesini forged aluminum wheels.
Once you've got your hands on the RSV4-RF, you'll have only two judges: the track and the stopwatch. All the equipment you need to shake them up is right here.

about the Aprilia V4-MP:
- Active Electronic Setup
The closest thing we have to a corner-by-corner electronic management system in the racing world. Thanks to the GPS module installed in the smartphone, the system tracks the motorcycle's position on the circuit moment by moment and automatically modifies the electronic settings (traction control and anti-wheeling), based on the configurations programmed by the rider, corner after corner. Safety and efficiency on the racetrack are enhanced by adapting control parameters to each point on the circuit, without distracting the rider from driving.
- Adaptive Race Assistant
this function provides real-time advice on how to get the most out of the RSV4 in complete safety. In real time, the application analyzes the rider's driving in relation to his best lap of the circuit, and guides him via an immediate display, providing advice on how to progressively improve his performance.
- Advanced Telemetry Dashboard
a "virtual" dashboard that displays on the smartphone all the information supplied with the standard instruments, plus many additional parameters acquired by the motorcycle's telemetry, such as: instantaneous power delivered to the crankshaft; instantaneous torque delivered to the crankshaft; percentage of power available; rear-wheel thrust; rear-wheel slip; lateral longitudinal acceleration (G-G diagram); degree of inclination.
