Aprilia wins Pikes Peak. For several years now, it's been the neighbor from Bologna who's been going for victory at the top of the American mountain. The 2019 edition was less joyous for Ducati...
While success may have changed hands, it didn't mean it was lauded with force and conviction - a certain welcome restraint followed the communication of this victory. Even Tuono's special "Summit Attack" series, created to celebrate this success, avoided any extravagance.

in fact, it could hardly be more discreet. While the sporty RSV4 X is a real eye-catcher with its war paintwork, the 1100 Tuono Factory Summit Attack is all about sobriety. The grey and black paintwork is almost as austere as that of the Tuono RR'Grigio Magny-Cours'. The only noticeable splash of color comes from the Öhlins suspension, specific to the Factory version.
Aprilia says little about the particularities of this limited edition. Only that only 25 units will be produced, and only for the American market. There, it will sell for $19,499. For the public, getting to the top of Pikes in record time also serves as a reminder that the Tuono is one of the most powerful roadsters in the world, with a V4 spitting out 175 hp. Big heart mandatory.
