presentation of the 1100 RSV4 XTrenta 2023

A look back at 2009. The first RSV4 reveals its pedigree: 180 hp for 179 kg dry weight.
Its descendants have gone from strength to strength, to the point of offering SBK over-the-counter: 230 hp for 166 kilos. The RSV4 X Trenta marks its territory, with different ambitions from its ancestor.

For decades, manufacturers have been offering special versions of their sports bikes to validate their presence in high-caliber championships, but over the past 10 years, a new trend has taken hold of the market. Extremely limited editions, tuned to the max to give the best of themselves, sold exclusively for the track, with no requirement for competition. The stopwatch and nothing else!

Aprilia was among the first to pull out all the stops. First with its Factory Works, then in 2019 with its RSV4 X. We can even go as far back as the RSV4 Biaggi Replica, but this one respected the displacement rules for racing.
The time has come for a new circuit beast. The Noale staff could have called it the RSV4 X II, but the Trenta suffix was chosen. It's an opportunity to add a little homage to some advanced technical solutions.

Trenta for thirty. This bike celebrates the 30th anniversary of Aprilia's first world championship title - in 125 with Alessandro Gramigni. The RSV4 X takes its cue from the bike's original color scheme. The RS-GP did the same at the Misano MotoGP at the end of August 2022. We're not going to dwell on the number of victories or the events of '92. Instead, we're going to find out what this circuit bomb is worth.

It 's a mix between the recent RSV4 Factory and the old RSV4 X. Its engine cubes a few cm3 more than the previous model, thus benefiting from a boost in watts. 5 more horsepower, and 13 more than the production model. To get them out of the V-4, the Factory Works workshop increased the compression ratio, fitted a titanium and carbon SC Project pot, installed a Sprint Filter air filter and recalibrated the Magneti-Marelli ECU. An all-titanium exhaust system, derived from the one used in GP racing, is also available as an option.
Given the extra calories to be evacuated, more efficient radiators are supplied by Taleo Tecnoracing. An exclusive titanium pinion is fitted at the gearbox output.

Aprilia 1100 RSV4 XTrenta aprilia has carried over the my19 model's insane braking, with Brembo GP4-MS calipers biting 330 mm T-Drive discs; the jaws are ventilated by carbon air ducts. The M7R Genesi is fitted with ultra-light Marchesini forged magnesium rims, saving 2 kilos in weight. They are wrapped in Diablo SC1 and SC-X slicks. On the suspension side, the Öhlins elements are modified by Andreani, with the collaboration of MotoGP engineers.

The fairing has evolved according to two guidelines. It is logically based on the plastic of the RSV4 1100, with an all-carbon skin, optimized by the influence of the GP. The whiskers take up much more space, to give the front end a more flattened look at high speeds. The RSV4-X is also the first "production" bike to feature a swingarm spoiler. A Ducati innovation, officially designed to cool the rear tire. ....
In Noale, we're talking about aerodynamics. The "under wing" is said to offer 25% more aero load and a significant reduction in drag.
Innovations are a regular occurrence at Ducat. However, it's the lion's share of the credit goes to the rival manufacturer, who uses it on something other than Grand Prix prototypes.
Another special feature is the reworking of the tail to create two additional winglets.

Aprilia 1100 RSV4 XTrenta as for the chassis, the Italian perimeter frame has long since proved its worth. Aprilia simply refines it, because it's so accomplished. The latest RSV4 features a swingarm profile reinforced from below. One of today's best parts-cycles is complemented by a devilish engine and comprehensive electronics - anti-wheeling, traction control, multiple mapping, engine brake control, etc. A Jetprime racing commodo allows you to navigate and set all assistances. You've got to channel the 230 grunts; the power of a MotoGP proto from 10 years ago.

An extreme sports bike , the RSV4 Xtrenta already firmly believes in its success. Its availability is announced to be 10 times greater than that of the first RSV4-X. There will therefore be 100 for sale, for the modest sum of 50,000 euros.... excluding VAT. Once you've crossed the border, this chrono desoldering machine will claim 10 bars more.

No need to go to your local Aprilia dealer to order one. First reserve it (from September 6) on the Factory Works website. Then, once the wheel is ready, head for Noale to collect it from Aprilia Racing. There, the owner will receive a floor mat, a cover and, above all, the opportunity to visit the racing department.
